The Value of Routine: Day 6. My Actifit Report Card: January 21 2023

Well. Today I weighed in at 193.6lbs.

So how did today go?

It all started with a walk on a chilly and foggy morning. I'm sure my dog enjoyed it more than I did.

Now I'm a creature of routine and do best when the days are all very similar. Today was an example of how things get messed up when there isn't a routine!

After my dog walk I normally take my son to school, do my coin hunt walk, then get on with the tasks of the day. That sounded like a good plan for today but my son informed me he had to go to school 45min later than normal. So I didn't have enough time for my coin hunt walk (5km) before going to work :(

Then I usually go for my evening walk of the dog and for coin hunt an hour before sunset so I have time to get it done before it gets dark. Also the park is closed after dark so my walking routine hours are limited.

Since I had to work until after dark my evening routine had to be changed so I didn't get to walk as far.

After my walk I normally have my food ll planned out so I have enough to keep me going until bedtime without overeating. Sounds great in theory but my son decided to go out while I was working and asked for pickup after my normal bedtime.

I'm not upset that he went out but it made me 90minutes late going to bed. Usually fine but my evening food wasn't that much so I got the munchies before bedtime so I binge snacked. Something I would have done if I was on my routine!

In short: My morning walk was shorter than usual because my routine for longer walk got interrupted :(

My evening walk was shorter than usual because work and an early sunset (winter) got in the way.

My regular diet plan almost worked but got siderailed because I had to stay up late to pickup my son.

Summary: Not as many steps as usual and too many calories :(

However, tomorrow is another day and will see how that goes.

and to restate my previous posts:

Its important to have a

ROUTINE

which can help me reach my

GOALS

and I keep going by having

MOTIVATION

which is aided by

PREPARATION and PLANNING

and make sure I'm getting there by

RE-EVALUATION

and prevent discouragement by understanding there will always be

SETBACKS

but after a setback its important to

RESTART and TRY AGAIN!!!!!!!
