Report short due to flooding. My Actifit Report Card: May 22 2023

Today was supposed to be a walk-through of three of the nicest parks in the Terrace, BC, area.

Unfortunately the Ferry Park was closed due to floods so no pictures of the cool tree ferries there.

SO. I headed to Lakelse lake hiking trail to take pictures of 500yr old Sitka spruce. Gigantic trees that it's hard to capture how massive they are.

Closed due to flooding. Yes the picnic area was open and it had

  • some big trees

  • a really nice lake/mountain view

But again not what I was hoping for.

Besides not a great place to get steps..

So I had to get my steps at Kleanza creek park.

Of the three parks it is kind of the ugly sister.

Now it does have an impressive river.

And some nice walking trails

With a lot of birds and other wildlife.

Surrounded by rugged mountains and even has some whitewater sections.

But overall I only got about 9k steps from this hike and I couldn't show you around this gorgeous place.

All because the Skeena river looks like this.

I spent a bunch of time in town buts it's just a small boring rural town in BC.
