Another day at work...but still got my steps in. My Actifit Report Card: June 23 2023

Nice day to walk the dog in the morning and evening. Seeing pretty apple trees like this as well as the animals, birds, flowers and so on.

As always it is an early morning to walk the dog. 6am time to get up and get the doggo out to do his business. Get back in time for 7am which is when I wake up my younger son to get ready to school.

Believe it or not he actually got up easily this morning. Probably because it was his last day of school...and because he had a math test that he go a do-over on. It seems that the class did poorly the first time around so the teacher said he would give them one more chance. As my son only got a 28% on the first test he studied had and wanted to do much better the second time around.

After waking up my son and getting ready for work it was time for work. Nothing specifically bad about work today except the scope of practice for Pharmacists in my province is changing.

We have been given the OK to write prescriptions. However, there are a lot of restrictions on what we can and cannot prescribe. When we can and cannot prescribe and a whole lot of paperwork to do IF we do prescribe.

The government hasn't been mentioning that the the general public and people have gotten the idea that they no longer need to see their Doctor. Which isn't true at all.

Now I'm happy that I have more freedom to give out necessary medication. However, I was never trained as a prescriber and I'm not looking for more responsibility when I'm trying to retire.

Oh well....Just the job I suppose. I'll do my best until my boss can find a replacement.

After work time to walk the dog for this evening walk. My wife joined me which was nice. She was pointing out all the trees and flowers that I usually post pictures of which I found kind of amusing.

Another thing that came to mind is that the neighborhood is changing. When I moved here 20 years ago most of the houses in the area were small one family homes.

However as prices of land goes up higher and higher it seems the houses get larger, and larger, and more modern. Instead of one family it is usually one family and a suite for another family. Or one large with many rooms so individual rooms can be rented out for more income.

Very big difference between the two that's for sure.

On the one side it is sad to think my community is changing. It is getting more crowded and expensive. Knowing your neighbor is far less common now. I know it is just progress but I'm not entirely sure I ilke the change.

Probably because I'm getting old. Still, change can be a little sad.
