Rain and Work. My Actifit Report Card: April 9 2024

Here's a little secret to a happier life.

Enjoy whatever you are given.

Today it was raining. When most people were trying to catch a glimpse of the solar eclipse I got to look up at the clouds with no sun in sight.

When I wanted to be doing pretty much anything else I was inside working.

When it was time to go for the evening walk with the dog, look how unhappy he looks in his red rainjacket. It is as if he is saying "please dad, not this, I look stupid".

Then when I'm walking the dog my feet are getting wet, its cold, I'm getting soggy and its really not very nice.

Here is the thing though...

..... I can either grumble or I can be happy with what I'm given.

Sure I wish I didn't have work today....but I'm glad I have work to do, a profession to say that I do. A paycheque every now and then to pay the bills.

Sure I wish it was nice out today. However, every day of rain means one day less of drought later in the year. Every day of rain means prettier flowers and stronger greener grass.

Looking at the bright side of life just makes things a little brighter.

Sure I would have loved to be off today and be able to see the eclipse.

But that just wasn't going to happen so might as well be happy with the 11K steps I did and the day that I had.
