Higu Isgwit...Off the regular tourist path. My Actifit Report Card: June 5 2025

Today was cold, wet, and miserable. What better time to go to a hot Spring?

Now this is in Nisga'a territory so it's really quiet and you have to book to enter. Kind of cool but also very peaceful.

Higu Isgwit is the name of the place and it translates as "little stinker" because it the sulphur in the water. On the plus side... Very relaxing.

As a side note the hot springs are a sign of volcanic activity. Really evident we are in volcano territory when we pay through the lava Memorial park commemorating an area where a native village was wiped out a few centuries back. The barren rocks are very glaring compared to the lush forest almost everywhere you look

We also stopped at lava lake. Beautiful looking Lake with a nice boat launch

But as for steps and such? Not so much. We planted a few trees and I tried mounting some solar panels but with the lousy weather we didn't do that much actual work out get that many steps.

So... Let's see what tomorrow brings
