Photos from a busy day. My Actifit Report Card: June 9 2025

Today we had friends over so we did a drive by of the most interesting things in the area.

First stop was the peeing tree. Our community water supply.

A giant cottonwood that has natural spring water coming out of it 24/7. We also saw this curious little critter with his prey while we were there.

Next up was the boat launch. We did see a black bear cub and mom on the way but didn't stick around for photo. Still the view of the mountains from the lake was pretty nice.

And I promised a friend a picture of thimbleberry so...

Then we headed to the kalum lake site of interest but I've posted pictures of that before so not today. Then it was off to the rosswood general store.

It has interesting products for sure but it even has a working payphone.

Now it may seem like a relic from the past but in a community without telephone service or cellular service it is kind of a lifeline out here. The phone company was going to take it away but in the end left it as a goodwill lifeline device.

After that we heard to the lava Memorial site and this time it was better weather so I could take more pictures.

The devastation from a centuries old volcanic activity has left giant scars on the landscape that's hard to show the scope of. Still it was cool.

Then it was off to lava Lake.

Seeing the mountain made me think of @saffisara who said she looked mountains. And I just last day and looked up at the sky because it was serene.

Then it was back home and I just wanted a nap but my wife wanted to check out a trail near our property.

It was a pretty dense bushy tail and my wife was scared we would run into a bear. No luck with seeing a Bear but my dog did find this guy

We did walk for about 40min and did find the cedar River but we couldn't really get to it's banks.
