Blackberries. My Actifit Report Card: July 19 2025

Today I saw the first blackberries of the season. Now that's not super interesting but still it does show that the season is progressing.

Now for those who don't know these tasty berries grow like a weed. A fast growing very thorny weed.

It makes an entire wall behind the park shelter.

However it also means free fruit for whoever wants to pick them. Not me today because it was busy walking the dog but maybe sometime soon.

After walking the dog? My wife was in a clean up mode so I had to help with yard cleanup. My job was mowing the grass. She also wanted me to compost the mint. Now she was going to keep some to flavor her water but I thought it was a waste.

So I was picking leaves in order to make dried mint.

But there were a lot of mint leaves.

So I thought hmm.. I think I'll try to make a min mint extract. Got some 151 dark rum and will see how the extracting process turns out.

Then of course walk the dog again to get more steps.

Plus a bit of coding to get just a little further ahead on the great little dragons project and that was my day and about 8k steps.

Pretty pleased with that
