Ready to travel. My Actifit Report Card: January 12 2026

Well today was a day that started in a hotel and ended at the airport.

Now that I'm pretty much retired and the homestay kids are gone I am getting serious about getting back in shape. Getting more sleep is part of my goal so no caffeine after noon is something I'm going to try.

Unfortunately I wasnt able to get my 8 hours. Went to bed at 930 and woke up at 330am. That sucked. But I got up. Stretched for 15 minutes, read my Bible and checked and double checked everything.

When it was light it was time to go for a walk and get some steps.

To add to the step count I thought I would go down the stairs. Since I was in the 19th floor it was actually a fair number of steps.

Then I did a bit of shopping. Mostly to get some fabric holders so I could organize my luggage a little better. Also got an umbrella because it was really really raining. Then bought some protein bars.

Why protein bars? Well I'm trying to lose weight and part of that is limiting calories while still getting all of my protein. Not enough protein and I'll lose muscle which is what I really don't want.

Now I would usually post an image of the wet roads but I actually posted that on the travel blog section so I won't double post.

But I did walk to get to transit in the evening to go to the airport also.

A beautiful night with very little traffic and the rain finally stopped.

Only a short ten minute walk to get to the SkyTrain transit station
..

And a bunch of steps in the station.

Then it was off at the airport.

I did a little walking around the terminal... But mostly I was hungry from not eating much so I ate a little and say and waited...

And I'm sitting now for a flight that leaves in an hour and a half.

And tomorrow I'll be in Manila, hoping I can maintain my diet and start doing some exercises to increase strength address part of my daily hotel routine.
