Back in Manila again. My Actifit Report Card: March 5 2026
Oops.
It seems like a moved all the photo's of the day onto my computer when I made a post about the hotel that I moved into.
So if you check out @cinderclaw.gld you can read about the place I moved into.
Basically it is a really cheap hotel on the streets of Paranaque which is good enough to sleep in after a long day (and night) on the airplane but really very very basic.

Right on a busy road and near the rail station. Makes for a very noisy room.
But on to how I got my steps today.
Now my stretches, balance exercises and body weight exercises? They got put on hold for the day. Reason? There just isn't enough room in the hotel to do them. Sad but true.
I tried to do them on the bed but it was way too soft (sigh)
All of my steps were walking the streets. At first it was to find a laundry. I tried to find "Bunny Laundry". I went to exactly where it should be according to Google Maps. I found a little shop/tower and I walked up all three flights to stairs trying to find it but no success. I tried one side street further. Nope. I tried one side street closer to a hotel and I must have looked out of place because some guys on the street asked "Looking for laundry?". Now I did see a laundry sign but it sure didn't look like a storefront so I passed it. After they asked, well, I said yes and they called "Ate" to get the attention of the lady inside.
My guess is it was a hand wash, home based system, but it wasn't expensive and my clothes were ready to go the next day.

After dropping off my laundry I headed back to the hotel room to cool down (Filipino daytime can be hot and humid).
Then I headed out again.
This time a little further in looking for something to drink.
Now I could pay the hotel price of P50 about $1 HBD for a small can of cola. By Canadian standards that's actually not a bad deal.
But I looked on Google maps and there were grocery stores nearby.
I set off to find them. First stop. A 7/11 which I stepped into because they had AC and it was nice to cool off for a moment along the walk.
They were P40 for the same can of cola. 20% savings which is nice but I forged onwards.
Eventually I found a very sad shopping mall with a Pure foods in it. I found a 1.5L diet coke for P67. So for a little more than the hotel price I got 5x as much cola.
I bought it then went to look in the mall.
Yeah... It was pretty empty but it had AC and was out of the direct sun.
Cooled down again then it was time to walk back to the hotel.
Overall that was good for over 8K steps.
I stayed in my room most of the day after that. Did a Hive article or 3, watched some TV but figured it best to stay out of the hot daytime sun.
In the evening? Time to walk again, this time to head to McDonalds...which was supposedly 24 hours but I guess they had staffing issues because they closed.
Result: I went to ChowKing instead. Ordered some chicken and walked back to the hotel.
I missed the gym at the Fairfield :(
I wished I could do more for my health today
But I figure everyone needs a rest day sometimes :)
And today was it.
That's my report for the day. Thanks for stopping by :)
