First 24 hour stay in my Maddarulug House. My Actifit Report Card: March 13 2026

If you were reading my blog last year at this time I was working to get my place in the Philippines ready for habitation. It was really rough in the beginning but after a couple of months it was starting to look like a real home.
I spent my very first night in the house last year. This year it is a little more complete. Now to be certain it is NOT finished yet.
The electrical situation is far from complete. The plumbing situation is absolutely not where it should be. It needs things like a couch, television, and more.
But it is looking better.

The difference from this time and last time is that before it didn't feel like a home. Really, it didn't. It didn't feel like something that I could live in for the long term in the state that it was currently in.
At this time? It is getting there. The contractors left the interior covered in dust. Exactly what the dust was from I am not entirely sure but there was dust everywhere
I spent the day sweeping, dusting, tidying, and sorting through all the junk that was left over. Actually that's what I've been doing for the past three days. Today I got to the point where I feel it is decluttered and undusted. Mostly
That's how I got most of my steps. Well, that and walking back and forth to my brother-in-law's house with is a half kilometer away. I have water on site but drinking water that I trust? I have to walk to his house to get that.
Also no food in the house means I have to go and bug him to raid his Sari Sari store to get food to eat.
And I guess I should say that I went into the main city of Tugeuegaro to get a few items.
A step stool because the cupboards are REALLY high.
A toilet bowl brush because... Well, you can guess :)
And AAA batteries because all my lights in the house are rechargeable with a remote control to turn them on and off. No batteries for the switch and turning the lights on and off becomes a pain.
Food! I had to stock up with at least a few bare essentials for the house. I can't feel like the house is liveable without food.
But in the end? I got everything done, spent the day at the house, and feel as if I could live here long term ...although some quality of life comfort things would still be a big plus :)
But I'll talk more about how I want to smooth out my life here in a different post on my alternate account @cinderclaw.gld :)
