Last day on vacation. My Actifit Report Card: May 27 2026

Today was to be our last day on vacation and our full day in Edinburgh. The plan?
See as much as we could before heading back.
First stop was not actually the castle in the first picture but rather the Parliament buildings.

They offer a free guided tour... But not today so we had to do a self guided tour.
However before even getting there we had a long walk .

Nice walk through the non tourist part of Edinburgh. I think most people take the tourist bus but we walk the streets.
After the Parliament building it was time for Holyrood Castle. My wife grumbled at the price but I figured it was worth it. The first image is from there. Unfortunately no photos allowed inside the castle but the outside was still pretty nice.

I thought the skies were really cool in the morning. That tour was interesting learning about the Royals and how and where they live. Nice place but I really don't envy their lifestyle.
After the palace? We went hiking to the top of Arthur's seat. It was a peak/high vantage point. Great views in all directions.

Mostly going to the top of that.

View from the middle

And view from the peak.
After that we still had to walk home but stopped at the museum of Edinburgh first.

Then walked some more and had lunch/late lunch on town proper.

Then I left my wife and went back to the hotel. She wanted to shop and my feet were in agony from blisters from all the waking.
I figured I did 20k steps with a blistered toe so I didn't feel to bad about saying... Enough...
So that's my day and tomorrow it's time to head back home.
Oh yeah... While my wife shopped... I was busy checking in and getting everything ready for our return trip.
Not like I was totally lazy :D
That was how I got 20k steps...
..... Although now I'm walking for a nice dinner so if I waited a bit... Even more steps... But 20k is enough

What a beautiful landscape in that first photo—it looks like a painting, a natural work of art. It’s a shame your vacation has come to an end, but the best part is that you enjoyed yourselves despite the setbacks. As always, I appreciate the opportunity to learn through the places you showcase. Have a safe trip! @terganftp
Hehe...
Yeah, Kings and Queens do tend to have the nicest gardens. Hopefully I will be able to show you some pretty images from where I live in Canada.
Thanks for looking and thanks for replying, appreciate it
