Tampa Bay gewinnt den Stanley Cup
In Spiel Nr. 5 war es dann soweit, die Tampa Bay Lightnings schlugen vor heimischen Publikum die Montreal Canadians mit 1:0 und gewannen somit die Serie mit 4:1
Die Bolts konnten also ihren Titel erfolgreich verteidigen, insgesamt ist es der 3. Stanley Cup den sie gewonnen haben und der Erfolg war mehr als verdient.
Sie waren über die gesamten Playoffs hinweg die beste Mannschaft, auch wenn sie die New York Islanders mit kluger Taktik und vollstem Einsatz, an den Rande einer Niederlage brachten.
Zudem hatten sie mit Andrei Vasilevski einen herausragenden Torhüter, den man braucht um den Cup zu gewinnen und der zb. Las Vegas in den entscheidenden Momenten gefehlt hat.
Für Montreal war es trotz der Finalniederlage eine hervorragende Saison in der niemand damit gerechnet hatte dass sie bis ins Finale vorstoßen könnten.
Auch da hatte Goali Carey Price einen großen Anteil daran, im Finale hat das aber dann nicht mehr gereicht, da war Tampa einfach zu gut.
Auf die viel diskutierte Tatsache das Tampa Bay in den Playoffs mit der Rückkehr (nach einer Verletzung) von Topscorer Kucherov die Cap Space Grenze (leider erlaubterweise) exorbitant überschritten hat, möchte ich gar nicht näher eingehen, das kann jeder sehen wie er will.
Ich persönlich würde mir wünschen dass die NHL hier eine Regel findet, damit so etwas in dem Ausmaß nicht mehr möglich ist.

Stürmer Patrick Maroon gewann nach 2019 mit den St. Louis Blues und jetzt mit Tampa 2020/2021, den 3. Titel hintereinander, das haben auch noch nicht viele geschafft.
Auf alle Fälle sind die Tampa Bay Lightnings ein würdiger Stanley Cup Sieger 2021 und man kann gespannt sein ob sie nächste Saison das Triple schaffen.
