Murphy's Law - "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong"

Today was another one of those days. I woke this morning all energetic after a good night's sleep, ready to do some more yard work. If you are a coffee addict like me, the first thing you do when you get out of bed, is make that pot of delicious wake up caffeine.

I'm one of those that you don't even talk to me until I've had at least two cups of coffee. Well this morning, I put my water in the teapot, plopped it on the stove grabbed the lighter, turned the knob to high, and proceeded to light the flame. And nothing.. okay, it's an old butane stove that was all rusted before my landlord painted it..so I tried another burner.. again nothing..My first thought "oh crap, it must be outta propane". I checked the tank and sure enough.

Okay, what now. I have to have my coffee! Next I go out to my grill and yep, it was out of propane too. Then I remembered I had this under the sink:

Please God, don't let this be empty too! Thank God it wasn't! I finally get my water boiling, pour it in the French press. Yes! It's almost coffee

I decided to make some breakfast as my helper was due to be here around 9 am. I go to the fridge to pull out some eggs and decided I better check the propane because Where we go one, we go all.". Yup, it was empty too..

Okay, take a deep breath and pour your coffee, go sit out on the deck and savior honey sweetened creamy cup of pure goodness..then drive to town to get your butane.

I finish my coffee, throw on my jeans, drive to town, get to the propane place and the gate is locked. It was 8 and sign said opens at 9 am. I drive to another place that sells propane and they don't open until 10 am.

Next I go to the bakery down the street to get some lillikoi malasadas and a couple of their delicious to die for bread pudding made out of sweetbread, coconut and raisins. And yes, they were out of both but they were cooking more. So I got a couple of other flavors of malasadas. Fortunately just as I was about to leave, they brought out the bread pudding!

I finally was able to get my butane and came home, got the tanks all changed out, ate a malasada and the decided to go heat me another cup of coffee. I tried to light the burner. Nothing again. I had forgotten to turn the valve on.

From there you'd think it be all over, not. After working back and forth in house and yard I was ready to relax a bit, fix me some lunch and then move some tools to storage. I go to the fridge again and that is when it hit me, I had forgotten to light the pilot on the refrigerator.! Thank God I had frozen items that were pretty solid keeping everything from defrosting.

It's all AOC and her squad's fault! I think she's put a curse on me because I agree with Trump! And besides, I'm kikin back in Paradise and loving every minute of it, so it was just another beautiful day for me!

Every day is an adventure when you live in Paradise!

This mornings sunrise 😎

The moral of this story:

Don't let anyone or anything steal your joy, or as we say in the south "Don't let anyone pee in your Cheerios!"

Mahalo and God Bless you all!!! Keep the faith and your God given right to thrive and be happy. Enjoy and cherish this beautiful planet as it was our gift from God to humanity. Put on your swords of truth and light and stay out of fear.

"And the meek shall inherit the earth and all the evil will be "sent back."

Haha! I'm really enjoying these new "daily log of my life" posts of yours. Reminds me back to the time I spent in Hawaii. I didn't have money then (nor do I now) so was limited in my experience, but did manage to work on an organic farm on a mountain on the North Shore of Oahu, and work in a hostel on the Big Island. I did encounter people there who had money and were living in nice situations. Once spent a night in the house of some US professor who lived literally right on the ocean on the North Shore. It was like I was sleeping IN THE OCEAN. It's interesting that you mention your support for Trump. I have been considering the idea of returning to the US (after fleeing 13 years ago), but have been concerned about how horrendous the political environment would likely be - depending on where you go. You got me thinking that Hawaii could be a SAFER place for someone who is generally moderate-right. Are there a lot of Trump supporters in your area on the Big Island right now? I would think there would be MORE than, let's say, the more liberal Oahu (just when considering Hawaii). Interested in your thoughts...

Glad you enjoyed. Yes Hawaii, especially the Big Island is probably one of the safest places as long as the volcano remains calm. Lol. Mainland is very tense and unsafe. Now that Trump is deporting the criminals, it should get a lot better m. More people are waking up and now supporting Trump. We cannot allow socialist to take control. Most native hawaaians don't bother to vote, they are protesting again the Democrats putting up another even bigger telescope on their sacred Moana Kai. They are fighting for their sovernenty. Most don't even watch the news. Definitely come back to the islands. It's for the most part calm. Thanks for your continued support!

Yeah, that's good information. I will probably NOT return anytime soon, as long as I can survive out here. The other side has really messed things up for me ( $100k+ student loan debt bondage) and I was LUCKY to even be able to get out of the States intact 13 years ago (on a one-way ticket). There are issues out here too, but not of the sort as over there. Unfortunately, most of the expats out here are bringing their "political baggage" with them, so it difficult to even find places to go where the usual "fake news-based" conversations (and animosity) don't exist. So I am keeping a low profile, just staying in my apartment on the computer for the most part. The food out here in Vietnam is good, and it's safe overall. That is, trouble doesn't come looking for you, and the people don't have guns (which is an interesting thing to see as a believer in the 2nd amendment - so I can confirm that there IS a way to have a society with less violence due to less guns, but the cost of that is that you need an authoritarian government to be able to pull that off). That said, other types of social problems exist here (ex. the educational system is a mess, bad decisions by the government, etc.) That said, I WILL give the Vietnamese credit for their ability to be flexible after the war and create SOME SORT of ordered society. Everyone here is out all day and night, eating on the streets, socializing, etc. That's not to say that they're "sane" (as they're NOT), but it is not the same "flavor" of insanity as in the US (and other "developing" countries). People are enjoying life here, and you don't have that same sort of brute force aggression as in Hawaii, nor the "partially"-foreign culture. Here there is a PROPER foreign culture where you need to adapt or perish. But you can at least have a more HUMANE existence (cheap food, cheap basic living products, $200 USD/month rent, etc.). I was literally pushed out of the US by debt and inflation. Even in Hawaii I lived in hostels most of the time, and a few times got the opportunity to have a little space on someone's land. One of the issues right now is that if I sold some Bitcoin (my "rainy day fund") and flew back to the US (Hawaii would be the cheapest flight in a total emergency) I don't even know where I'd go. I'm not going back to live half-homeless in hostels. They aren't even INTENDED for that, but things have gotte so bad that they've turned into halfway houses essentially. I was so disgusted by the US at the time (and after) I left that I truly considered rescinding my citizenship, but decided not to because having an American passport is a very good thing (which most people on earth do NOT have the advantage of). For instance, next month I'm doing a quick (same day return) flight out of Vietnam to Thailand) because Vietnam has struck a special deal with the US that allows a one-year multiple entry business visa (all other countries only get 3-months). one year is a long amount of time to have a visa (compared to most of the other countries out here (~ 3 to 6 months and then you have to leave and return). So that's one recent benefit of the US passport. I guess it's better to NOT burn bridges, as long as the government just leaves me alone. They've already ruined my life with the student loan debt, so all I ask is to be left alone.

Anyways, it's good to know that there's someone (from Steemit) on the ground over there to report on the general vibe. This is something that has been bothering me, as I have been having trouble getting the proper intel.

Keep up the good work...
