Uno de los hobbies mas interesantes que tengo en el mundo del futbol es el de buscar y apoyar en la temporada a ese equipo que no suele ser de los mas destacados cada año pero que en la actual temporada esta rindiendo tan bien que este optando por algo grande.

One of my most interesting hobbies in the world of soccer is searching for and supporting a team during the season that is not usually one of the most prominent each year but is performing so well in the current season that it is aiming for something big.

Quizás nunca volveremos a ver una hazaña como la del Leicester City del 2014 pero les aseguro que es una manera muy entretenida de disfrutar del deporte rey, mas aun que desvivirse por una derrota de esos equipos grandes que todos apoyan.

We may never see another feat like Leicester City's in 2014, but I can assure you that it's a very entertaining way to enjoy the beautiful game, even more so than agonizing over a defeat by one of the big teams that everyone supports.

En mi afán de buscar a esa nueva sorpresa del año he llegado a ver varios partidos del Lens de Francia, y a pesar de que sabia que estaba enlazando varias victorias hay algo que no había notado aun y es lo que vamos a hablar el día de hoy.

In my quest to find this year's new surprise, I have watched several matches of Lens in France, and although I knew they were stringing together several victories, there is something I hadn't noticed yet, and that is what we are going to talk about today.

Estaba tan ocupado viendo los buenos resultados que estaban obteniendo que no me había percatado que están por encima del PSG en la tabla posicionándose en el 1er lugar, si bien no es por una gran diferencia ya que solo es 1 punto que los separa, es de mucho merito lo que hacen ya que estamos hablando del equipo que el año pasado gano casi todo lo que estaba compitiendo.

I was so busy watching the good results they were getting that I didn't realize they are above PSG in the table, positioning themselves in 1st place. Although it's not by a big margin, as only 1 point separates them, what they are doing is very commendable, since we are talking about the team that won almost everything it competed for last year.

En casa han sacado victorias muy buenas ante rivales directos en esas primeras posiciones de la tabla como la obtenida ante el Marsella 2-1 y también ante el Estrasburgo 1-0, pero sigo insistiendo que es la solides defensiva la que los tienen peleando arriba ya que son actualmente el equipo que menos goles ha encajado de la temporada, con apenas 13 goles recibidos en 16 jornadas.

As I mentioned at the beginning, it is too difficult for us to find a team that can achieve what Leicester did in 2014, and it is very likely that RC Lens will drop from its current position. However, I see something different in this team, with a lot of confidence from midfield down and very quick transitions to attack that help it achieve those good results.

El punto de mira del equipo estará en esos partidos importantes que le quedan como recibir al PSG en su estadio y visitar esta vez al Marsella en su casa, dependerá de eso y además de que mantenga el ritmo arrollador contra los otros equipos.

The team's focus will be on the important games that remain, such as hosting PSG at their stadium and visiting Marseille at home. It will depend on that and on maintaining their overwhelming pace against the other teams.

Una ligera ventaja que le veo con respecto al resto de sus competidores es que solo esta compitiendo en la liga y en copa de Francia, no tiene esas competencias europeas que al final terminan dándole mas minutos de juego a sus jugadores y que podría para su beneficio esperar que alguno pierda puntos en el camino que lo ayuden a seguir en pelea.

One slight advantage I see over the rest of its competitors is that it is only competing in the league and the French Cup. It does not have those European competitions that ultimately end up giving its players more playing time, and it could be to its benefit to wait for someone else to drop points along the way to help it stay in the fight.

Estaré pendiente de que le depara a este equipo en 2026 y espero que al final termine obteniendo un boleto a Champions que sería un logro enorme para la institución, y si en algún momento de la temporada vemos que esta cerca un logro aun mas largo que eso, seguro volveremos a hablar de ellos en próximas redacciones.

I will be watching to see what 2026 has in store for this team, and I hope that in the end they will secure a ticket to the Champions League, which would be a huge achievement for the club.
