This is Sugarloaf Maine on January 10th, most of the mountain was on wind hold but the whiffletree chair was open. This is a run down upper and lower whiffletree which is an easy blue and then turns into a green groomer run. Super easy stuff but better than not skiing. They opened the King Pine chair literally 20 minutes after I had to stop skiing for the day. They also closed the daycare on us without informing us, so I skied till noon and then took over watching my toddler. Sunday we got her some skies and I tried to teach her to ski (video inbound), so that was actually a blessing in disguise.
So the lines for this one chair were long because it was one of the only ones open. There was barely any wind in my opinion by about ten am. But hey I don't run the resort so. They never opened the skyline chair while I was there so all the snowfields were inaccessible the whole trip. Then I came down with shingles on Sunday which is the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life. However the trip was still fun. Skiing is the best thing I have ever experienced. Sugarloaf is beautiful, just wish we had better snow and less wind on my trip. I heard they just got a ton of snow recently.
This was shot on my go pro hero 11.

It is winter and ski time mate!
Got my first sessions in recently myself, was hoping you took advantage of the snow man! Hope we get a great season! If all works out, Vermont is in my future!
Going to Sunday River on the 31st of January and the 1st of February. Then when my tax return hits I am planning on booking a weekend at Sugarbush and then another one at Killington. Sugarbush and Killington are absolutely awesome mountains. Jay Peak is my favorite but I have the Ikon pass which does not include Jay. However I did Jay last year and it was great.
That's awesome man, been a long time since I've been to those. Haven't been to killington before but hear lots of great stories about it! Id love to hit up mount snow this year but we'll see!
I generally go to Killington at the beginning and the end of the season because they have the best snowmaking team on the East Coast. So I go there in mid December then I go back in late March because it's the most reliable mountain for snowmaking. The middle of the season it's quite busy on the weekends (only time I can go is on weekends), so I tend to go to mountains like Sugarbush during mid season or Sugarloaf where you need natural snow. The Ikon pass is totally worth it if you buy it in the spring, and ski more than 7 days (total) a year, it is a massive discount on lift tickets. Because you get season passes to places like Sugarbush and you get 7 days each of skiing at places like Killington, Sugarloaf, Sunday River so you literally never run out. Mount snow is not on it, but it has a ton of great mountains. Including my favorite mountain ever which is Big Sky in Montana.
Yeah I think that group pass sounds like an awesome idea! I remember getting the multi-choice pass many years ago for mountains in New Hampshire, I don't remember what it was called.
Solid tips on the differing conditions dude, I will take that into account! Thanks!
Edit: It's got Tremblant on there - one of my old highschool friends RAVED AND ALWAYS talked about that place. Said THE absolute best he's ever been to. What's funny is it's really difficult to find what the price of it is lol
