Day and Night Street Skating | TWS and Calawis Skateboarding
Good day, folks! Today I just wanted to share with you our "Day and Night Street Skating" happened on April 19, 2025, Black Saturday. Honestly, I'm so glad because since 2015, when I stopped skating and then went back to skating again in 2020, we've been able to shred in the street again. I really miss this kind of skate session from day to night, mostly up to midnight,t until we really get tired.
As I said above this session happened almost 60 days ago together with my homies named Lawrence Traquina, Bernard Arandilla, and Gerald Martin. Unfortunately one of my friends Chris Lawrence Velasco wasn't able to skate that day he said he had a college entrance exam. We started to shred at the parking lot of a bank we got lucky because that bank is closed every Sunday.
Highlights
Lawrence Traquina dropped an Ollie into a two-stairs, yes, he didn't make it on the first try. I knew there was nothing crazy about that trick, but what was most interesting to me he did that trick after 9 months without skating.
Bernard Arandilla perfectly landed a Frontside Ollie 50-50 Grind on a concrete gather shaped like a ledge. The most challenging about this trick is the space. If you look at the image very closely, you can notice on the right side, there is also a gather. So the space between the two gatherers is too tight, but Bernard still landed his FS Ollie 50-50 Grind.
After 10 years, this is the first time again when we are able to skate in my favorite spot of all time, inside Ynares Compound. Even though the light was poor, I was able to land a Kickflip drop on a sidewalk, and it felt really good.
Gerald Martin drops a Frontside 180 down the two stairs, and that is so amazing. I did all the best I could do to capture that trick at a good angle.
You can watch all these highlight tricks in our skate video. Enjoy watching.
