Polkadot Likely to Become FC Barcelona Sponsor
FC Barcelona, the Spanish-based football club and La Liga giants are currently receiving and considering proposals from various brands, towards the sponsorship of their football club jersey. This is in-line with the fact that, starting from July 1st 2022, Rakuten and Beko will no longer be the official sponsors of FC Barcelona's club T-shirts.
Looks like there will be a contract expiry and there is therefore a need for need sponsors and partnerships. In view of the fact that FC Barcelona is a renowned and popular football club, with a huge fan base; many brands have already sent it their proposals seeking to seal a deal.
Getting such deal is clearly a win-win for the both parties because your brand or product stands to gain a widespread publicity and awareness while the football club enjoys your sponsorship. One of the brands and companies seeking to take advantage of the opportunity is the cryptocurrency project - Polkadot with the ticker $DOT.
Other companies seeking to get the deal with FC Barcelona are Spotify, Tencent and Vegan Nations. However, FC Barcelona's goal is to reach 75 million Euros for sponsorship according to the release. Hence, the club pointed out that they'll need enough time to carefully analyze their choices and every proposal submitted to them inline with the club's long-term plan.

Should Polkadot be accepted as FC Barcelona T-shirt sponsors, that will sure be a big plus for the cryptocurrency space. It would directly mean that Polkadot's logo would be imprinted on FC Barcelona's jerseys and all over the Camp Nou stadium.
This would mean more adoption for crypto in the football world. Crypto presence is always seen in the world of sports as many football clubs and basketball teams have signed partnerships with various cryptocurrency projects. However, more partnerships would not be a bad idea and it would contribute immensely to acceptance of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
