However, it appears that ever since the departure of Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to Italy and France respectively, not much attention has been accorded the La Liga by football lovers. Just a wild guess though!

Nonetheless, La Liga is still a competitive league as there are some top teams like Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Real Madrid, etc grinding for the gold, year in and year out.

Here, we'll be reviewing the top 10 all-time highest goal scorers in the La Liga tournament. Worthy of note is that La Liga has experienced some of the best goal scorers in the world of professional football. Some of these footballers are Christiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Raul, Alfredo di Stefano, Karim Benzema, and others.

10) Pahiño - 210 Goals

Occupying the 10th position is Manuel Fernández Fernández popularly known as Pahiño. The former Spanish international was born on January 21, 1923, and all through his career, he played as a center-forward. Pahiño made a total of 278 appearances in the La Liga netting 210 goals, from 1943 to 1956.

Overall, the Spaniard played for 3 clubs in the La Liga including Real Madrid, Deportivo La Coruna, and Celta Vigo. However, he saw a majority of his goals while at Real Madrid; scored 111 goals for the club in 128 games only.

Worthy of note is that, in his 12 years in the Spanish league, Pahinō won the golden boot twice. That is, he won one Pichichi Trophy each with Celta Vigo and Real Madrid. As we know, everything that has a beginning must have an end. Pahinō retired from active football on July 1, 1957. Unfortunately, he died on 12 June 2012.

9) Karim Benzema - 216 Goals

Karim Mostafa Benzema is the only player on this list that is still active in La Liga at the time of this post. Others are either retired or active outside La Liga.

The French professional footballer was born on 19 December 1987 in Lyon, France. He had his youth career with Bron and Olympique Lyonnais football clubs before joining the Los Blancos. Benzema is currently Real Madrid's number 9.

He is popularly known for his playmaking and finishing prowess. Ever since 2009, when he joined Real Madrid, Benzema has made a total of 409 appearances for the club while scoring 216 goals. This has taken him to the 9th position on the list and he's gradually moving up the ladder.

(8) Quini - 219 Goals

Enrique Castro González was popularly known as Quini. All through his career days, he played as a striker and he was a prolific one at that.

In just 448 appearances in La Liga, Quini scored 219 goals. The striker featured for two clubs in the La Liga while in action - Sporting Gijon and FC Barcelona. However, he made more appearances for Sporting Gijon than at FC Barcelona.

While making 356 La Liga appearances for Gijon and scoring 165 goals, he played only 116 times for FC Barcelona and scored 65 goals. The Spain international was regarded as one of the country's top strikers. He bagged a total of seven Pichichi Trophy awards (Golden boots), five of those in La Liga.

Lastly, Quini was born on 23 September 1949 in Oviedo and sadly, he passed away on 27 February 2018 at the age of 68.

I think that the audience has gone down a bit since the two biggest stars left, but this last year with the resurgence of Barcelona and the better performance of Real Madrid plus the return of fans to the stadium, I also think there had to be The spectators have risen again and if Mbappe and Halaand arrive in the league for the next season, it will be fantastic.

As for the Scorers, I am glad that Karim is still active, a great player who began scoring many goals after the Portuguese came out and I must say that the other names I did not know and it is interesting to find out about them. Greetings, I will wait for the next one.

It's great to see Barcelona picking up themselves again. I miss the old, formidable FCB side we once knew
