Campeón del Torneo Temático "Gambito Evans" / Champion of the "Gambito Evans" Thematic Tournament
Hola Compañeros del ajedrez, compañeros de la comunidad ajedrecista de Hive. En esta ocasión vengo a comentarles sobre un torneo temático que gane el día sábado 5/02/2022, vía online a través de la plataforma Lichess; en un post anterior (hable algunas ideas generales sobre los torneos de este estilo).
Esta vez la apertura que nos engalano la válida fue una proveniente de la época romántica del ajedrez, me refiero al Gambito Evans.
El Gambito Evans es una línea derivada de la apertura italiana que se produce tras las jugadas 1. e4 e5 2. Cf3 Cc6 3. Ac4 Ac5 4. b4!?
Hello fellow chess players, fellow members of the Hive chess community. This time I come to tell you about a thematic tournament that I won on Saturday 5/02/2022, via online through the Lichess platform; in a previous post (I talked about some general ideas about tournaments of this style).
This time the opening that graced the valid one was one from the romantic era of chess, I mean the Evans Gambit.
The Evans Gambit is a line derived from the Italian opening that occurs after the moves 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Bc5 4. b4!?
La historia de este gambito nos habla acerca de William Davies Evans un marinero con el rango de Capitán, oriundo de Gales, a través de sus travesías marinas empezó a jugar ajedrez. Una época donde la teoría de este juego estaba descubriéndose y los sacrificios en la primera fase del juego iban ganando popularidad por la rebeldía que planteaban, al entregar un peón a cambio de desarrollo, las partidas tomaban un ritmo trepidante, algo muy bien visto para los espectadores.
Algunas versiones sobre el origen de esta apertura, dicen que Evans estaba en el barco y movería su peón a la casilla b3, pero un movimiento del mar hizo que se desplazara hacia b4; lo cierto del caso es que esa sería una jugada que guardaría muchos secretos por descubrir. Evans conocía a un ajedrecista Irlandés llamado Alexander Mc Donnell con quien precisamente data la primera partida registrada de este gran gambito.
The history of this gambit tells us about William Davies Evans a sailor with the rank of Captain, a native of Wales, through his sea voyages began to play chess. Esta partida es una verdadera joya, cuando estamos empezando en el ajedrez, estos son ejemplos clásicos que debemos conocer, en cuanto a creación, historia, cultura se trate; existen partidas como la “inmortal, la siempre viva” de Andersen por citar ejemplo, también del romanticismo ajedrecístico, esas son joyas para la posteridad.
En la citada partida de Evans – McDonnell observamos lo característico de un Gambito, sacrificar a cambio de la iniciativa.
This game is a real jewel, when we are starting in chess, these are classic examples that we must know, in terms of creation, history, culture; there are games like the "immortal, the ever-living" of Andersen to cite an example, also of chess romanticism, those are jewels for posterity.
In the mentioned game of Evans - McDonnell we observe the characteristic of a Gambit, sacrifice in exchange for the initiative.

Después de esta jugada, la pareja de alfiles del blanco son una lanza mortal contra el rey negro que se encuentra en el centro del tablero, sin posibilidad alguna de enroque, esta es una de las ideas principales por parte de las blancas, la definiría como la posición soñada, tener el Aa3, Ac4, Db3, columnas libres del centro (d - e) y con un caballo en g5 apuntando el punto f7.

La partida continuo 15.Txd8+ Dxd8 16.Cxf7 Dh4 17.Db5+ c6 18.Dxe5+ Rd7 19.De6+ Rc7 20.Ad6++ De esta manera culmina la primera partida de la cual se tiene registro del Gambito Evans.

Después de haber mencionado un poco de historia y cultura ajedrecista, el día 05/02/2022 se realizó la 4ta válida de la liga de ajedrez organizada por @schamangerbert, vía lichess; donde nuevamente diversos jugadores se animaron a participar, en un ritmo modalidad arena 5 min + 2 seg de incremento.

Este torneo tuvo la particularidad, según las estadisticas que nos ofrece lichess, las piezas negras se llevaron el premio al tener un margen de 48% de victorias sobre 45 % que ofrecieron las piezas blancas y solo un 6% termino en tablas. Esto quiere sirve para abrir un parentesis entre el pasado y presente del ajedrez.
En el romanticismo, la teoría de aperturas estaba cruda, al día de hoy, esta muy avanzada, gracias a los programas informáticos el margen de error se ha reducido a nivel de preparación teórica, desechando las lineas que carecen de potencial y algunas que lamentablemente en la actualidad no funcionan, con esto no quiero desmeritar al Gambito, nada esta escrito en los 64 escaques, solo recalco que conociendo la teoría se puede plantear muy buena cara, una buena defensa y culminar con la victoria.

En particular mi record también favorecio a las piezas negras, jugue 8 partidas, 2 derrotas ambas contra @eniolw ; 6 victorias (4 de esas con piezas negras) lo que representa el 66,66% de mis victorias.

Esta partida contra el adversario @kreur , es una en las que mejor sali de la apertura, admito que no estoy diestro con la teoría, pero con conceptos básicos de ajedrez pude salir adelante; mi rival tuvo pequeños problemas en la fase inicial y no ingreso en un buen medio juego. Pude capitalizar y materializar mi ventaja poco a poco.
This game against the opponent @kreur, is one in which I came out of the opening better, I admit that I am not skilled with the theory, but with basic chess concepts I was able to get ahead; my opponent had small problems in the initial phase and did not enter a good middlegame. I was able to capitalize and materialize my advantage little by little.
En esta ocasión me enfrente a @stayoutoftherz , planteo una de las variantes algo interesante con la jugada 5... Ad6!? ; a pesar de obstruir la salida del alfil de casillas blancas, se defiende el punto e5 ante la fuerte ruptura central tras c3 y d4. El blanco se apresuro al atacar y descuido por completo su rey dejandolo en el centro, el cual pude atacar con energía dandole un jaque mate brillante ++
On this occasion I faced @stayoutoftherz , he raised one of the somewhat interesting variants with the move 5.... Ad6!?; despite obstructing the exit of the white squared bishop, the e5 point is defended against the strong central break after c3 and d4. White rushed to attack and completely neglected his king, leaving it in the center, which I was able to attack with energy, giving him a brilliant checkmate ++.
Esta fue la última partida del torneo que jugue, me enfrente al fuerte jugador @eniolw , las últimas 4 partidas que hemos jugado, la victoria le ha sonreido. A pesar del negro haber obtenido ventaja, llego un punto donde la posición estaba tensa y no conseguía la manera como abrir / simplificar la posición y materializar su ventaja. Termine de cometer el error decisivo y abrir la posición, cuando debí mantener la resistencia. Estoy seguro que @eniolw iba a buscar la manera de ganar a toda costa, pero no tenía que ayudarlo a ganar.
This was the last game of the tournament I played, I faced the strong player @eniolw, the last 4 games we have played, the victory has smiled on him. Despite the black had an advantage, there came a point where the position was tense and he could not figure out how to open / simplify the position and materialize his advantage. I ended up making the decisive mistake and opening the position, when I should have held the resistance. I'm sure @eniolw was going to look for a way to win at all costs, but I didn't have to help him win.

Very insightful post!! BTW, I lost to you I think the day after, where I must have had a kind of +120 advantage but all of the sudden an invisible bishop of yours came up out of nowhere and then I got mated on f1. Wow.
