So you trust that you are going about your business, using the online services of big tech.

Its scary when you find out, that there are over seven thousand pairs of eyes, voyurising your children's data.

Surely, they are making a financial gain in one way or another. Which may include building a virtual YOU in cyber space.

Or even selling that DATA on the dark Web, to your unknown enemies. Who could be someone having a different political or religious view, or even after your car keys and social security number.

Be very careful, as we hear everyday about DATA LEAKS, as happened to Bitboy Crypto only last night.

Where it appears that an employee from this telephone company Verizon, sold his phone data to some very bad people.

Best to use an open source product, and a good VPN.

Stay safe at all times, and only trust your mother 🙏

I have had to resort to paying with money orders in order to eliminate attack surfaces that online accounts are.

It costs a couple bucks a month per account, but that's a small price to pay for not being vulnerable to having online accounts hacked. If I don't have such accounts, hackers can't hack them.

Yeah, don't use windows. Apple is no better. Goolag is worst of all. Get off their platforms and use linux.

Thanks!

I started to de-google my life a couple of years ago.

Quite fun to explore and navigate solutions.

Hope to help others do the same 👍

Hey man. I played around with a few Linux OS's a while ago and I remember liking Mint. I am about to get a new computer and want Linux on it because of things like what you mention above. You got any distro recommendations for someone that knows a bit about Linux but would appreciate it at least working right out of the box, so to speak?

Mint will work out of the box. It's based on Debian, just like Ubuntu, and if you already have some familiarity with it all the better. Privacy is just non-existent on Windows or Apple, IMHO. Every day I read something new about Edge or Apple's latest OS sending all your pics to the central office.

Never heard of Linux doing anything like that.

thanks for that. I'll put Mint on it then. I do recall it being a bit more simple than other distos I tried out. I dont' use my PC for a great deal and by changing to Linux I think I will have much more peace of mind because I did start to worry a great deal more once Windows became "free" because there is no such thing as free.
