Es cierto que, en algunos países y regiones la Lucha no es un deporte muy popular, pero en el caso de nuestro país lo es porque expresa la vocación permanente del cubano y, como deporte de combate representa una de las disciplinas más prestigiosas de nuestro país y nos identifica.

La primera modalidad en competir fue la libre y nuestra actuación fue discreta. En esta modalidad los mejores resultados estuvieron en el sector femenino en el que Milaymis Marín alcanzó el quinto lugar y de paso se coló en la cita de París 2024 a la clasificaron también los tres medallistas de la Grecorromana.

Las mejores alegrías para nuestro país llegaron en la segunda especialidad en la que Gabriel Rosillo, Oscar Pino y Luis Orta alcanzaron las tres medallas de la delegación.

La grandeza de los atletas de la Lucha Grecorromana

Si bien alcanzamos el cuarto lugar por países hay que decir que ese lugar se debe, en gran medida, a lo conseguido por los atletas de la lucha Grecorromana que tuvieron una actuación de lujo al alcanzar dos medallas doradas y una de bronce.
