Not my day...

I just finished a 10.306km running that lasted about 0hh:48mm:45ss !

The happiness of the optimistic athlete is not always possible.

Today is one of those days that it would have been better to stay at home or in the office without doing anything... but I have not done so.

On Sunday I have my 1st Target race so today I had to train in a very specific and intense way.

The plan requested to perform 6 repetitions of 1000 m
The target was to run them between 3'30 "and 3'25" / km recovering 90 seconds statically, that is, totally stopped.

Unfortunately, for me today has not been my day, I have not slept very well, I have had little breakfast, so much work at the office and, also today, it is windier than normal which is always a handicap for runners...
As a result,
1st 1000m: 3'29.7"
2nd 3'29"
3rd 3'28.6"
4th 3'28.8"
5th 3'33.6"
6th 3'33.1"

I have failed on the 5th and 6th repetition while I was planning to reach 3'27" or lower...

The problem is also due to I had to run alone this time, I had to do the training in advance because, later on, I had an unexpected meeting in the office...

Seems that I have to reconsider my strategy for next race.

I was planning for a race pace around 3'40"/km and I think I will have to plan for 3'45"/km...

I will decide on Saturday morning when I will do the activation workout.

The only positive think of today's workout has been that I have enjoyed of the contemplation of the training of my colleagues who have arrived little later than me, while I was doing my stretching.

Below a nice pic of them in action.

Keep on running!

Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 29 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 294.29 kms at an average pace of roughly 5:12 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 4.73min/km!
Looks like you went a bit faster than usual this time! Nice work!

I have noticed sleep plays a big role in performance. Poor quality sleep affects mental performance which in turn affects athletic performance. What do you think you can do to resolve the sleep issue?

Rest is the most important part of getting ready for competition.
