Lynyrd Skynyrd - My Actifit Report Card: October 20 2022
On 20 October 1977, the plane carrying the members of the American rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd crashed when it ran out of fuel. The band was at the height of their career and had just finished a concert on their tour. Singer Ronnie Van Zant and guitarist Steve Gaines died in the crash and the survivors decided to disband the band.
Years later the band reunited with Ronnie's younger brother on vocals and they are still going strong today, although after numerous changes only guitarist Gary Rossington remains as a founding member.
Although they have always remained true to their style and received great respect from the fans, they never regained the fame they enjoyed in the 70s.
Lynyrd Skynyrd have gone down in history for creating some of the greatest anthems in rock history.
