On January 21, 1977 the album "Animals" of the British band Pink Floyd was released. It is their tenth album recorded in studio, and it is a conceptual work whose argument is centered in a critical vision in the social and political aspect of the British capitalist society of the 70s.

The album is divided into three parts, each representing a different social class: the pigs, the dogs and the sheep.

The first part uses the pigs to represent the upper class as despot and authoritarian. The second uses the dogs to represent the middle class depicting them as an ambitious and anxious society, and finally the third part represents the working class through the sheep, showing them as submissive and easily manipulated.

Animals has one of the most iconic covers in rock history, with an inflatable pig floating above the city buildings.

Animals is considered one of Pink Floyd's best albums and a benchmark in progressive rock.
