Journeys to Glory" was released on 6 March 1981, the debut album by the British band Spandau Ballet, the leading representatives of the new musical movement known as New Romantic, characterised by the primary use of synthesizers and a very glamorous and peculiar aesthetic inspired by David Bowie and Roxy Music.
"Journeys to Glory" was a critical and commercial success and established the band as one of the most prominent groups of the early 1980s. It features great production and marks a very distinct, innovative and distinctive musical style.
The album's opening track, "To Cut a Long Story Short", is arguably one of the best and most iconic songs of Spandau Ballet's entire career with a catchy synth riff and lyrics and singing that create a special atmosphere that is very attention-grabbing.
