El 25 de marzo de 1972 se publica el álbum “Machine Head” de la Banda inglesa Deep Purple. Se trata de su sexto trabajo en estudio y está considerado una obra maestra de la historia del rock, un álbum icónico y de gran influencia posterior en todo tipo de géneros, desde el heavy metal hasta el grunge y el hard rock.
“Machine Head” fue grabado en Suiza en tan solo tres semanas, utilizando únicamente ocho pistas de grabación. Esto hizo que el álbum tuviera un sonido más directo y crudo que lo diferenció de trabajos anteriores de la banda.
El álbum contiene una sucesión de grandes himnos de la historia de la música como "Highway Star" o "Smoke on the Water" ampliamente conocidas por sus famosos riff de guitarra.

On March 25, 1972, the album "Machine Head" by the English band Deep Purple is released. It is their sixth studio album and is considered a masterpiece in the history of rock, an iconic album and a great influence on all kinds of genres, from heavy metal to grunge and hard rock.
