A Tired Fan Rants.

As an Arsenal fan , it is the hope that kills. How long is "progress" sufficient?
15 years ago, Wenger was building for the future with teens like Walcott, Denilson, Alex Song etc .Arsenal have been surpassed by Chelsea and Man City since then, soon Newcastle too. Meanwhile Arsenal still talks about building on progress. It's the hope that certainly kills

If you are conversant with my posts regarding Arsenal you would agree with the fact of how I constantly point out the team being a sucker for mediocrity especially when it comes to times it mattered the most.

I feel what Arsenal do so well is constantly shaming her fans . I mean it will be an extreme sport explaining to my kids how my dear team bottled an 8 point lead. Three consecutive draws followed by a loss. The worst actually happened after all these.

Fast forward to yesterday's game when we had to go all in or have nothing . Regrettably the team settled for the latter. It's certainly all over now. We were totally outplayed by a team that just lost 1-5 to Everton.A huge loss to a team that knocked us out at the same Emirates stadium in the Carabao cup is totally not acceptable.

A horribly lacklustre, passion-devoid, spiritless, pathetic performance that cements an inexplicably dismal run-in to a season which promised so much.
Let's call a spade a spade, we bottled the league due to inexperience and lack of character.

Ooh! Please don't tell me we had a good season ! . Finishing second trophyless, please spare me . If Leicester could win the league by just doing the needful I don't see why Arsenal can't do the same . Talmabout they being the pride of London. Lol! . The team and management really need to fix up . The winning mentality and character is no doubt absent .

Take a look a Kiwor ! He was fouled , a very soft one at that and he just took his eyes off the ball . You already know what happens next . I mean how do you explain that ? Honestly my head bangs trying to rack my brain deciphering what was going through his mind .

Must we always concede cheap and shitty goals everytime ?! What on earth was Trossard thinking , when he made that blunder?? For God's sake there was no pressure on him !

Honestly ! We should have just stuck to our traditional top 4 chase we are at least used to . Like why would you introduce we the fans to a lifestyle the team can't afford??

What a season honestly, I just wonder if we would get this opportunity again in seasons to come. The boys really need to be men. They can't be this mediocre playing at the CL next season . It's the emotions Henry warned about. Sometimes put those aside, play football and win games.

Over the last few weeks Arteta and the players have put themselves under significant pressure for next season. Huge expectations for next year. Hope they can live up to them.

Brother!! It is tiring and annoying at this point, Arsenal sets her fans up for easy and excruciating banter!!
I sometimes wonder what’s goes through the players heads, do you not want this win, the glory?? Don’t you see and hate the banter surrounding you team? If you see it why is it not showing in your actions in the way you’re playing this game!!
Bro we dropped points to Southampton, they are bottom of the league!! You don’t do that as title contenders!! Now we are the title pretenders!!
IT IS PAINFUL!!

I think @mckane is a neutral. He says:

"Let's face it here, when this season started no one could've predicted Arsenal will still be in with a title shout by May. As a matter of fact, no one gave them a chance to make the top three not to talk of being the main challenger to that winning machine residing on the blue side of Manchester. Most sports pundits predicted Arsenal's best chance will be the fourth position, some even omitted them from the top 4 picture completely.

"The season has gone quickly and we are definitely at the tail end of it now. Manchester City will be crowned EPL champion again. Newcastle will qualify for the Champions League for the first time since God knows when, Chelsea will finish outside the top 10 despite spending more money than some leagues, Liverpool will play Europa League next season (whether they like it or not). The only unknowns right now are the two teams that will follow Southampton to the Championship and whether Spurs will play in Europe next season or not.

"So, is Arsenal's season a successful one or not? As far as I'm concerned, Arsenal's season has been a successful one though a lot of people will disagree. I'm making this conclusion based on the team goals they started the season with. I'm 99.9% sure the season objective would've been to qualify for the Champions League after being away from the prestigious competition for about six years. Did they achieve that objective? Hell, yeah, they did. Understandably, the objective changed when they went eight points clear at the top, what they achieved can't be understated; Arsenal grew faster than anticipated.

"The Premier League is such a crazily bizarre league. The only constant when starting a season is the fact that Manchester City are the strong favourites. Other than that, nothing remains the same. Liverpool pushed City till the last day of the last campaign. This season, they've fallen way off. Chelsea? From 3rd to 11th, there is no simple explanation to that massive flop. Considering this haphazard nature of the league, it's understandable Arsenal fans feel incredibly disappointed after missing out on such a good opportunity. The big question now is, will Arsenal compete strongly like they did now next season?

"The easiest answer to that will be a yes, of course, but caution has to be taken. Liverpool already had six wins in a row. Man United looks exhausted towards the end but they have enough money to add extra quality in the summer. Those two will probably improve to make the competition stiffer. As for Chelsea and Spurs, their case is in the hands of God - no comment! Even though Arsenal suffered a late heartbreak to relinquish the title they desperately desire, that doesn't nullify the fact that they've had an absolutely amazing, unexpected season.

"They now have the template for success. Let's see if they'll build on it or will return to their mediocre ways of solving football problems."

Bro! I'm so sorry I'm just seeing this . I totally do agree with what you said . My headache is why the team can't just seize opportunities. You don't expect Chelsea, United or Liverpool to be 8 points ahead and still drop points . I just don't see that happening!

Yah man, how're you doing?
Apologies taken.
Well technically I didn't say anything.🙂
The identity of who spoke is there and well I agree with his take.

Outside that, I have nothing more to say, other than to congratulate our man Xhaka as he exits the club. He's been terrific! I conclude that he has made a very classy decision, this is the best time to leave. Farewell our warrior.

I wasn't bothered much after the game because I lost hope weeks ago.
Man City has the title already so whether we won or lost, it would've changed nothing.
