Scenes Where The Gunners Hammer The Hammers .

Revenge they say is best served cold and this saying the Gunners really took personal during their away trip to East London on Sunday . The Hammers in late 2023 successfully beat the Gunners twice prior to yesterday's fixture . A 3-1 win in the League cup and 0-2 victory at the Emirates was enough confidence booster for the Westham team to brush the Gunners aside in their own books . The Gunners however seemed to have other plans . They weren't going to let the past dictate their present.

A William Saliba header from a set piece (corner) was enough to start the party for the Gunners . Arsenal this season no doubt are the masters of set pieces . They have pulled out 16 goals from set pieces than any other team in the league this season .

Bukayo Saka continues to let his presence felt in the Arsenal team . He got on the scoresheet twice for the Gunners yesterday . So far he has 100G/A in his Arsenal career . What a decent stat for a young 22 year old professional footballer. He grabbed a brace yesterday for the Gunners. The goals came in both of halves , 41st and 63rd minutes respectively.

A player who has improved from time to time in the Gunners' squad no doubt has to be Gabriel Megalhaes. Time and time he has justified his
starting place in the center back position with Saliba. Asides his defensive prowress he has eyes for goals when he gets the opportunity. Yesterday wasn't an exception as he put his name on the scoresheet. His header in the 44th minute made it Arsenal's third goal of the first half .

One would have thought the Gunners were done with scoring in the first half . The Arsenal team were three goals up after the Gabriel's goal. Leandro Trossard had other ideas instead as he finnesed a nice shot into Areola's net to make it Arsenal's 4th goal of the afternoon . 0-4 halftime scores and you could see multitudes of Westham fans leaving the stadium already .

Ex Hammers starman , Declan Rice couldn't help but adding salt on Westham's wounds as he came up with a screamer of a goal to make the final scores 0-6 in favor of the Gunners. This happens to be Arsenal's highest away win since 1935. Arsenal were in total control of the game from start to finish yesterday, such a domineering performance I must say. The huge win helped in increasing Arsenal's goal difference.

Arsenal's victory against the Hammers secures them third spot with 52 points , 2 points below leaders Liverpool and same points with second placed Manchester City . At the moment the premeir league race seems like a three horseman race. The race gets more feisty and I'm sure Arteta and his wards are aware of this . This is surely no time for incompetence. Next stop for the Gunners is an away trip to Burnley. Hopefully the Gunners get a victory from this fixture. Till then it is fingers crossed, COYG!!
