So Close Yet So Far .
Watching Arsenal is like watching Netflix , you always have to wait for the next season. - Patrice Evra .
This famous quote by Manchester United legend Patrice Evra couple of years ago seems to never lose its cause . Arsenal I won't lie is such an unbelievable team . If you are conversant with my post about the Gunners you will reckon how I always lay emphasis on the questionable character of the boys as they really find it difficult to get the job done when it matters most .
With few matches to go in the premier league I just can't believe our so much coveted second position is about to be snatched away by Manchester City , a team that really had a rough season . Yesterday's loss to Bournemouth at the Emirates just sums up Arsenal's season .
Arsenal took a first-half lead against the Cherries only to drop points for the fourth time over their previous five Premier League matches. A pair of set-piece goals proved to be the Gunners' undoing as Dean Huijsen headed Bournemouth level before Evanilson bundled in a 75th-minute winner.
Unlike Arsenal's recent setbacks against the likes of Everton, Brentford and Crystal Palace, the dropped points couldn't be blamed on a weakened squad. Arteta effectively selected his first-choice eleven for the visit of Bournemouth, only making two changes from the lineup which started against PSG in midweek.
Two defeats at home in a week is nothing to write home about. Emirates is supposed to be our fortress but it's turning into a slaughter house . At this point I'm honestly exhausted at ranting about Arsenal's near success syndrome. It's five years trusting the process and there's nothing really to show for it except for claiming second position in three successive seasons.
Arsenal's problem is more or less of a mental issue ! Arteta is soft, his players are soft! As soon as pressure starts to mount, they crumble! They’ve shown enough times now! We can’t keep pretending!! I'm not sure how much longer the Arsenal board will put up with "so close yet so far" tag .
