My Actifit Report Card: September 10 2021

Everybody is happy to be on vacation up here in Montana for a few days. Just a chance to relax and explore a new area.

Both Lulu and I were awake before the sun had risen and we went out for a nice relaxing walk around the old Main Street of the city.

This area was originally the site of a major gold spot back in the mid-1800's that has been converted into a pedestrian area by the city.

It was good to stroll along the quiet shops think about what it must have been like all those years ago when it was a busy gold camp

or even earlier when the native Americans roamed through the forests and creeks in what is now the city of Helena

Maybe there are still ancient artifacts under the street still.
Afterwards it was off to the Missouri River to try our luck hunting for sapphires from the gravel along the river banks. Unfortunately no public (free) areas to prospect so we had to try our luck at a couple of commercial operations.

A couple of hours sifting through the gravel from the deposit to find a few nice little gems in the rocks - one of which I'm going to have cut into a nice little stone for my lovely wife 💖💖💖

Lulu was full of energy today, she was go, go, go on our walk this morning and had a fun time with her new furry friends.

Tomorrow I'm going to try my luck digging my own gem gravel at the mine to see if I have any better luck finding gemstones or a few bigger flecks and flakes of gold. Either way it's a fun time.
