My Actifit Report Card: October 12 2021

It's early October but it feels like winter is on the way. Overnight temperatures were just about freezing with sleet falling.

After the warm days the sudden cooling made the day feel so, so miserable and a cold wind didn't help either. Lulu didn't seem to mind the mess that much.

Fortunately the Arizona sun and dry air fairly quickly melted the dusting of snow/sleet so the roads were clear for my late morning walk.
It felt strange to have to wear warm gear after months of shorts and t-shirts activities. But my legs felt pretty good and I kept up a hood pace over my usual walking route (mile or so on the dirt and the rest quiet streets).
The birds were active feeding on the loads of drying seed heads of the wildflowers along the roads but the cool weather kept everyone else indoors it seems.
Lulu and I spent a little time at the park but it was too windy and cold to spend too much time there so I headed over to Copper Basin to dig up several bucket loads of gravel to sort through at home. At least the sheltered valley and the heavy digging kept me warm while Lulu day in the sun. Hope tomorrow is a better day and I can get over to the creek for a bit.
