My Actifit Report Card: August 6 2022
My body was really tired today as my increased workload in my activities has worn me down a bit. My legs were heavy and not that full of pep but I was able to put in a good number of steps and miles ,(just not as good as usual).
It was just Lulu and I out for our morning walk. [The back of my right leg has been a bit sore like a muscle injury but it could also be from the chronic low back nerve problems that I've had for years. I re-aggravated it over a year ago while shoveling snow and it occasionally gives me tenderness down into my hamstring. No weakness but the soreness is annoying.
Anyhow, it was a nice and easy walk for just about 3 miles which helped me feel better and Lulu had fun.
Next I spent a few hours up to my waist in muddy water over on Lynx Creek shoveling gravel gor gold. It wasn't as hard work as before and the water kept me cool. Too bad the gold was only a few flakes so not much value for my exercise.
I wasn't that motivated to go out for some afternoon exercise as I hadn't eaten too much so I could have blown off my walk but I figured an easy few miles were better than none.
My first mile was horribly slow as my legs were just slow to loosen up. A bit over 17 minute pace on a flat loop was pretty lame and the second mile was at least faster but not great. After that I finally began to feel stronger and was able to fo better but still over 15 minutes per mile which isn't that good. I really would like to be jogging more by now buy my old body is taking its time to adjust.
Hope it's a better day tomorrow to wrap up my weekend.
