My Actifit Report Card: September 28 2022

Tired legs today so even though I put in a couple of workouts my load was a lot less. Oh well, my body is gradually adjusting to the greater work load of daily running.

Our family walk was slow this morning as the uneven dirt path parts were tough on my wife's legs so it was an easy mile and a half stroll for everyone to get the kinks out of our bodies (although Lulu always enjoys our early walks).
I had hoped I would be up to some hilly running on a combo road and single track trail route I often ran a couple of years ago but I could tell from the get go that today wasn't going to be that productive.
Tired muscles made my first mile over 10 minute pace and although the second mile was much better and 30 seconds faster my spirits and drive just weren't into the run. I then decided to loop around on the dirt a couple of times and then back onto the flat roads but that only helped a little bit.
At that point I figured it was best just to call it a day for running and head home with only 4 miles in the books.
Oh well, rest. recover snd regroup and try to get better for the second half of the week.
I did do some cooking in preparation for my ultra as I made an experimental batch of keto fudge to take with me to the Palmer Lake run for energy. Just baker's chocolate mixed with coconut oil and almond butter and a block of cream cheese sweetened with Swerve.


Definitely "different" and it won't win any cooking awards but just over 6000 calories in the pan should help keep me fueled through the long hours (especially if it's chilly up in the Colorado hills).
