My Actifit Report Card: January 19 2024
The Winter's cold took the day off so that we could enjoy a nice walk around Lynx Lake and on up to the creek and back for some great hiking. Plenty of good miles on a wonderful Friday.
Lulu was ready for her morning walk right off the bat and I was happy to see her willing to trot along ahead of me (at least until we hot the dirt section-then it was time to sniff and piddle).
We were fortunate to walk with our neighborhood friends and Lulu made sure that she got plenty of attention before we parted ways on the last easy stretch back to home.
Lulu was whining and hanging her head out the window even before I turned onto the road to the Northside parking area at the lake and she was ready to trot down the path before I could even lock up my car.
As usual we started off going clockwise along the narrow dirt trail hugging the shoreline. The ground was still mostly hard from the overnight chill so the footing was decent until we got to a narrow rocky stretch that was still slick with ice.
Once past that icy stretch the path was clear as we looped around past the southern area and back along the west paved path.
Al in all it was a very good 3 moles that is always enjoyable (especially when so many people tell Lulu what a beautiful dog she is ❤️)
I figured that we might as well check out Lynx Creek to see how the water was running and get in another mile or two hiking while we were at it.
A couple of our prospecting friends were digging away so we chatted a bit before heading upstream for just about a mile before heading back along the opposite side of the creek. Lots of beautiful forest scenery even in the middle of the winter.
A great day and hopefully we won't get too much rain this weekend.

It's really a nice spot in the autumn and winter when it's not so crowded. Lots of trails through the forest and Lulu just loves being an outdoors dog.
