My Actifit Report Card: March 19 2024

Mother Nature threatened us with big rain clouds but we ended up enjoying our time outdoors without any problems.

Our routine morning walk was quick so that we could head out to the Prescott National Forest for a hike up onto the Salida Gulch Trail and around the creek. We passed a couple of friends on the open field but Lulu and I just kept up a quick pace to wrap up the walk.
The weather forecast was for late morning/afternoon rains so we drove out to the trailhead shortly after we got home.

The trail was nice and clear and the recent rains hadn't made it too mucky and the surrounding forest was alive with birds and plenty of smells for Lulu to check.
We steadily climbed up the narrow but g clear trail as it ascended the hills above the lake and gave us great views of the city with the big clouds rolling in from the south.

We hurried along after reaching the halfway point where we began the return leg on the opposite side of the gulch. The rains had filled a few sections of the gulch with a few pools of water where Lulu could cool her tired little feet and get a cold drink.

From there it was a fairly flat and open path down to the damp creek and the trailhead to wrap up our walk as we could hear thunder in the distance.
Off to Sedona tomorrow for a few hours.
