My Actifit Report Card: April 11 2024

At least we had a sound sleep last night and woke up early ready for a nice day.
It was already warm and the forecast promised a sunny and very warm day that would make the weather higher in the Walker hills that much more enjoyable.

While my wife went to shop and do laundry I headed out with Lulu for a longer 3 miles this morning 🌄.
We both were cruising along and it's always nicer when we hit the large open field where Lulu can explore and look for rabbits to chase and I can take in the scenery.

Ot was beautiful when we parked high above Lynx Creek and made our way down the forest service road to the creek several hundred feet below. There were birds all around and several times I spotted Mourning Cloak butterflies dancing through the air (a sure sign of Spring).
Once at the creek it was a rigorous hike along the often narrow channel with loads of rock piles to climb over.

After hiking a couple of miles we rested and I checked out a few spots with my metal detector but nothing significant of interest. Lulu wandered around, the bell on her harness making enough noise for me to keep track 9f her.
A couple of hours there before heading back up the steep hillside to wrap things up.
Tomorrow will be a day on the road on the first of two dog rescue transports I am doing this weekend.
