My Actifit Report Card: April 13 2024

It was a beautiful Spring Saturday after many hours on the road yesterday helping out with a dog rescue transport. I didn't do much Friday except drive but today we hit the trails.

Everyone was tired from driving so we slept in a bit late this morning but Lulu and I were on the road for our walk soon after.
It's nice to see the trees beginning to show some green buds and the Spring flowers are adding color to the landscape. My legs and back felt fine after hours in the car so I was able to move along quickly except for a few pauses to let Lulu piddle.

I was scheduled for another rescue transport tomorrow morning so I figured that I'd go out for a nice long hike around Lynx Lake to get in some good miles today. As it turned out the dog is going to be adopted by one of the transport folks in Albuquerque and we weren't needed anymore.
Lynx Lake parking lot was full of cars with both ends of the lake loaded with people enjoying a wonderful day.

Of course, our aim was to wander along on the various trails that are in the area. The shoreline had quite a few people fishing but the trail itself didn't have much traffic so we could enjoy the walk.

We ended up heading upstream along Lynx Creek towards Walker for another mile from the southern end where the trail narrows down to a rugged path hugging the edge of the creek for a mile or so. From there we had to splash across the water for the return trip back down to the lake and onto the paved trail.

The rest of the hike was nice and relaxing as this part of the loop trail is very walker-friendly with a smooth paved surface and plenty of spots where I could enjoy the view and Lulu a splash.

A wonderful day with just about 5 miles covered that we both enjoyed immensely.
Since there's no drive tomorrow we'll head back out to the creek to hike and dig.
