My Actifit Report Card: April 20 2026

In a week we'll be on the highway heading east and north towards South Dakota but for today it was an easy run and hike high up on Mingus Mountain on my agenda.

I hit the trail before 9 am so the day's temperature was well below the upper 80s that the thermometer would reach in the afternoon. Even so it was still warm and I quickly worked up a sweat as I turned onto the road. It was a tedious mile climb before I crossed the Blowout Trail entry and began the more enjoyable downhill trail.

Just over 5 km covered at a decent pace-slowly improving and I hope quicker gains in SD.
Another early afternoon trip up to the Woodchute Mountain trails with Lulu. The 7000 foot elevation made the conditions over 15 degrees cooler so our 3 mile hike was much nicer.

Other than birds and beetles there were no other creatures on the trail with us. Lulu trotted we'll out in front pausing every now and then for a sniff and pee but overall the pace was pretty good.
Big fluffy clouds were building but unfortunately no rain was forthcoming.
Time to relax and more organizing our gear for the trip.
