Mt Taylor hike - My Actifit Report Card: October 8 2025
It was good to stop and rest for a couple of days here in New Mexico on our way back to Arizona for the winter months. Lulu and I headed from our stay in Grants up to nearby Mt Taylor for a few miles hiking high in the hills (almost 10000 feet to be exact).
We did a short mile walk around the rv park so Lulu could potty before heading up the mountain. The sunny yet mild day was accentuated by the beautiful October foliage of the golden Aspen trees on the hillsides that really stood out against the pines.
The trail wound down the hill and we were almost alone except for woodpeckers and jays as we took in the beauty on a mile and a half trek before turning around for the harder hi I d back up to the parking lot. Lulu didn't seem to mind the altitude but I was panting a bit but it was still a great few hours.
Off to Arizona tomorrow to visit friends before arriving at out winter home.
