Hola, hola, querida comunidad

¿Cómo están el día de hoy? Yo muy bien por estar aquí, siendo mi primer post en esta comunidad para traer un tema bastante interesante. Como algunos sabrán, en España se disputó un evento de boxeo que es exclusivamente de streamers y celebridades importantes, y por eso mismo hoy quería hablar de este evento. Sin más, quiero traerles un resumen del mismo y comentar qué tal me pareció.

How are you today? I am very good to be here, being my first post in this community to bring a very interesting topic. As some of you may know, in Spain there was a boxing event that is exclusively for streamers and important celebrities, and that's why today I wanted to talk about this event. Without further ado, I want to bring you a summary of the event and comment on how I found it.

La velada del año 5

Para darles un resumen rápido, este es un evento que se disputa todos los años, en el cual diferentes celebridades actuales se pelean en un solo ring. Estos combates son bastante cortos y se busca llegar a la resolución de quién es el ganador en cada combate. Hay muchas personas que no consideran esto un real evento de boxeo, ya que tiene muy poca profesionalidad y sus peleadores no son realmente boxeadores (o no la mayoría); por eso hay muchísimas personas que no lo disfrutan, pero de igual manera quería traerles por aquí el contexto de lo que pasó.

To give you a quick summary, this is an event that takes place every year, in which different current celebrities fight in a single ring. These bouts are fairly short and they look to come to a resolution as to who the winner is in each bout. There are many people who do not consider this a real boxing event, since it has very little professionalism and its fighters are not really boxers (or not most of them); that is why there are many people who do not enjoy it, but I wanted to bring you here the context of what happened

Hubo áreas de celebridades e influyentes favoritas del público, como lo son Roro, Alan, Gaspi, Andonis, etc., los cuales dieron lugar a 7 combates. En este evento pasaron muchas otras cosas, como ciertos cantantes, entre otros, pero aquí en este post me quiero fijar más en las peleas y el profesionalismo que buscaron darle a cada una.

There were areas of celebrities and influential public favorites, such as Roro, Alan, Gaspi, Andonis, etc., which resulted in 7 fights. Many other things happened in this event, such as certain singers, among others, but here in this post I want to focus more on the fights and the professionalism they sought to give to each one

Para ser justos, debemos tomar en cuenta que la mayoría de estas celebridades realmente no son boxeadores; simplemente son personas amateurs que fueron invitadas a este evento con un premio por medio. Personalmente, la pelea que más estaba esperando era la de dos personalidades llamadas The Greft y Westcol, donde sin duda debo mencionar que me decepcionó bastante notar la poca preparación que Westcol tuvo y llevó al ring, quedando sin energía luego de los 40 segundos de comenzar. Esto evidentemente se debe a que su contrincante tenía una gran preparación a nivel de resistencia, la cual Westcol no poseía, lo que lo llevó a perder su pelea.

To be fair, we must take into account that most of these celebrities are not really boxers; they are simply amateurs who were invited to this event with a prize on the line. Personally, the fight I was most looking forward to was the one between two personalities called The Greft and Westcol, where I must definitely mention that I was quite disappointed to notice how little preparation Westcol had and brought to the ring, running out of energy after 40 seconds of starting. This is evidently due to the fact that his opponent had a great preparation in terms of stamina, which Westcol did not have, which led him to lose his fight.

Algo que no me gustó de estas peleas es que no fueron totalmente justos con la mayoría de los combates, ya que aunque hubo muchas peleas donde los peleadores tenían pesos y estaturas similares, hay otras donde las estaturas eran demasiado diferentes y podían llegar a ver diferencias de peso de hasta 20 kg, lo cual es bastante injusto y poco apropiado para lo que es el boxeo, pero al final del día, se entiende que aquí las peleas no son lo primero; es algo meramente por entretenimiento y no por amor al deporte.

Something I did not like about these fights is that they were not totally fair with most of the fights, because although there were many fights where the fighters had similar weights and heights, there are others where the heights were too different and could see weight differences of up to 20 kg, which is quite unfair and inappropriate for what boxing is, but at the end of the day, it is understood that here the fights are not the first thing; it is something merely for entertainment and not for the love of the sport.

Debo mencionar que algunos combates, la verdad, estuvieron bastante interesantes, donde veíamos mucha intensidad de ambas partes, pero luego vimos otro tipo de combates donde los golpes conectaban con una fuerza mínima y donde no parecía existir técnica de ningún tipo, lo cual me aburrió un poco.

I must mention that some fights, to be honest, were quite interesting, where we saw a lot of intensity from both sides, but then we saw other types of fights where the blows connected with minimal force and where there seemed to be no technique of any kind, which bored me a little

Entiendo y comprendo enormemente que este no es un evento tan profesional, pero aun así, si se busca dar un combate o varios combates de esta magnitud avisando con meses de antelación, lo mínimo debería ser que todos los participantes se preparen con mucha disciplina y den lo mejor en cada combate. Siento que el nombre del boxeo y lo que significa este deporte es muy importante y mucho más grande de lo que pudimos ver en este evento; por ello, difícilmente se toma con la seriedad deseada. Aun así, evidentemente estuvo entretenido y llegaron al público que buscaban tener; por ende, este evento fue un éxito, pero no pasa en el mundo del deporte real.

I understand and greatly understand that this is not such a professional event, but even so, if you are looking to give a fight or several fights of this magnitude with months of advance notice, the minimum should be that all participants prepare with great discipline and give their best in each fight. I feel that the name of boxing and what this sport means is very important and much bigger than what we saw in this event; therefore, it is hardly taken with the desired seriousness. Even so, it was obviously entertaining and they reached the audience they were looking to reach; therefore, this event was a success, but it doesn't happen in the real world of sport
