Skateboarding and rock’n’roll - Slowburn 2 GIG in color (Series of the street action images).
Sadly, but the fact. I wasn't born in a country with skateboarding culture. So my childhood was dedicated more to bicycle, which also was too far from any kind of perfection - try to imagine to yourself this one-speed heavy machine which weighed 16kg. I made some nice muscles on my hands, but the bicycle was too heavy for the real street action. I don't even mention skates culture - it was absolutely absent as the possibility to buy the skateboard in the sports stores.
For the first time, I saw skate in a store during my army service in some far place in the middle of the steppe in the local army supermarket. Sure I bought it. It was the only single item which they got for sale ever. WHAT??? Well, I was the only lucky buyer in the 17.000 soldiers division :-)) I started to learn the unknown to my technique in the long corridor of the battalion building because it was illegal by the army regulations to use this kind of transport in the territory. of the division.
So, this was my first and the only experience using this wonderful equipment.
Now I return back to the series of images I'm going to post today. This series I photographed during the Slowburn 2 GIG - the music festival in Israel, which took place at Barby avenue of TelAviv: live music, art, tattoos, skateboards, stalls, food, and of course alcohol. In the list of bands attending the fest were KADAVAR (Germany), DOPELORD (Poland), The Great Machine (Israel), Operators (Germany), FET (Israel) and others.
Outside of the covered stage, was built a ramp for skateboarders, and the ramp and the territory around was packed by the brave people jumping without stopping. Here the colorful moments of the crazy happening :

That's pretty cool how you got to kind of discover skateboarding, after having no idea that it existed. I think a lot of people take these things for granted because they see them all the time, and almost think of it like a fashion choice, and thus only a few actually try it out to discover the joy that skating brings.

anyway, I not continued using skates after the army service due to the same problem - the absence of them in the stores in the 1980s and actually after this.
