Transfer Window Update : What I think about "BRYAN MBUEMO to Man Utd and RASHFORD to Barcelona" as a United Fan
Alright, football fans, let’s talk about the transfer rumors that have been buzzing like crazy lately Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United and Marcus Rashford heading to Barcelona. As a lifelong United fan, I’ve got thoughts on these moves, and I’m hyped to break it all down.

First off, Bryan Mbeumo to United. This one’s got me excited! Reports are saying United have finally sealed the deal with Brentford for around £65m, with up to £6m in add-ons, and Mbeumo’s medical is happening this weekend. After weeks of back and forth, rejected bids, and Brentford playing hardball, it looks like Ruben Amorim’s got his man. And let me tell you, Mbeumo is a statement signing. This guy’s been a menace in the Premier League 20 goals and 8 assists in 38 games last season for Brentford? That’s legit. He’s not just a goal-scorer, he’s versatile and can play across the front line.
What I love about Mbeumo is how he fits into Amorim’s system. United now plays this 3-4-3 setup, and Mbeumo’s perfect for that right sided attacking role. He’s left footed, quick, and has that directness we’ve been missing since, well, prime Rashford. Pair him with Matheus Cunha, who United already nabbed from Wolves for £62.5m, and you’ve got a front line that’s starting to look scary. Cunha’s got that work rate, Mbeumo brings the clinical edge imagine them linking up with Bruno Fernandes. My only worry? United’s attack only scored 44 Premier League goals last season, one of the lowest in the league. Mbeumo’s a massive upgrade, but we still need a proper No. 9 to round things out.

Now about Marcus Rashford to Barcelona. Rashford’s been United through and through since he was a kid, and that 2016 debut against Midtjylland still gives me chills. Apparently, it’s a loan deal with an option to buy, and Barca would cover his full wages.
On one hand, Rashford’s been off the boil for a while now. Last season was rough 7 goals in 33 games, and he looked like a shadow of the player who banged in 30 goals in 2022/23.
But on the other hand, Rashford’s one of us. He’s Manchester born and bred, and he’s carried this club through some dark times. I’m worried he’ll either thrive in Barcelona and make us regret it or flop and fade away. Still, if he’s not in Amorim’s plans, maybe a fresh start in Spain could reignite his spark. Imagine him tearing it up in La Liga part of me wants that for him.
So, what’s the bigger picture? United’s attack is getting a major uplift. Mbeumo and Cunha are exciting additions, but losing Rashford, Garnacho, and others could leave us thin unless we reinvest smartly. Brentford’s losing a gem in Mbeumo, and I’m curious how they’ll replace him. Word is they’re already struggling after letting Thomas Frank and Christian Norgaard go. As for Rashford, I hope he finds his mojo, whether it’s at Barca or somewhere else. But deep down, I’m praying United’s new look squad comes out swinging when we face Arsenal in our Premier League opener on August 17. Mbeumo in, Rashford out it’s a bold new era.
