Participating in OpenSea's NFT Marketplace | Experience + Voyagers = $SEA Airdrop [EN/ES]

Participating in Abstract was an interesting but also frustrating experience. In some cases, acquiring the badges meant investing a large amount of money. Everything started with relatively acceptable expenses, something like $1.85 to $3 dollars, but then came the tasks that required expenses higher than $12 dollars (the last mission I decided to give up was when I was asked for 0.008 ETH (equivalent to $20) to buy a NFT to play the game with). I preferred to give up and look for other alternatives.

It was then that I learned that OpenSea is preparing an airdrop in which it will launch the $SEA token. This is not an assumption, it is quite clear if you read the terms and conditions of the project. In this case we must acquire Voyages to gain experience, and I assume it is a way to maintain loyalty and commitment; something that could be highly valued.

Participar en Abstract fue una experiencia interesante, aunque también frustrante. En ciertos casos, adquirir los badges se traducía a invertir una gran cantidad de dinero. Todo comenzó con gastos relativamente aceptables, algo así como de $1,85 a $3 dólares, pero luego llegaron las tareas que requerían gastos superiores a $12 dólares (la última misión en la que decidí abandonar fue cuando me pidieron 0.008 ETH (equivalente a $20) para comprar un NFT con el que jugar al juego). Preferí desistir y buscar otras alternativas.

Fue entonces que supe que OpenSea está preparando un airdrop en el que lanzará el token $SEA. No es una suposición, sino que está bien claro si uno lee las bases y condiciones del proyecto. En este caso debemos adquirir Voyages para ir ganando experiencia, y asumo que es una manera de mantener fidelidad y compromiso; algo que podría valorarse mucho.

At first glance we might think that we have to make huge expenditures, but it is not what it seems. We can do the tasks spending very little, simply focusing on completing them, and making the trades or sales before the price is changed.

I started with the one to buy an NFT from a verified collection on the Polygon network, the minimum being $10. At first I had my doubts as I sent POL to my MetaMask knowing that this is also the gas, but then I noticed that at checkout the price was WETH. I admit I did some juggling to leave myself some for the gas and the rest to swap to WETH. So after that I was able to buy it. Also with this I would complete another voyage, which called for the purchase of a PFP NFT.

Not all NFTs are paid for in the same way, others allow you to buy directly with POL. Once you have bought it, you can hold it until it goes up in price and then sell it, or put it up for sale immediately. To be bought quickly, this NFT has to have a high volume of transactions. That is, in a few seconds or minutes, a person is buying one from the collection. It is also to be considered to put the price below the floor price, since it is also positioned before others.

The next operation consisted of swapping a token on any chain, with the particularity of being a minimum expenditure of $50. As I already had funds in Polygon, I took advantage of it and made some swaps. If I didn't know about it, I wouldn't have dared to deposit $50 in the platform, but that's not the point. These trades are cumulative, which means that by making 5 trades of $10 dollars, you complete the task.

Mind you, wrapping and unwrapping a token didn't count towards the mission, so I used my POLs and exchanged them for USDCs, then USDCs for the UNI token. From UNI I changed them to LINK, then to POL again. Possibly one operation I had done twice, but it counted for the progress bar to reach 100%.

A simple vista podríamos pensar que se tienen que hacer gastos enormes, pero no es lo que parece. Podemos hacer las tareas gastando muy poco, simplemente enfocándonos en completarlas, y hacer los intercambios o ventas antes de que el precio se vea modificado.

Comencé con la de comprar un NFT de una colección verificada en la red de Polygon, siendo el mínimo de $10 dólares. Al principio tuve mis dudas ya que me envié POL a mi MetaMask sabiendo que este también es el gas, pero luego noté que al momento de pagar el precio estaba en WETH. Admito que hice algunos malabares para dejarme un poco para el gas y el resto hacerle swap a WETH. Así que luego de eso sí pude comprarlo. También con esto completaría otro voyage, que pedía la compra de un PFP NFT.

No todos los NFTs se pagan de la misma forma, otros te permiten comprar directamente con POL. Una vez que lo has comprado, puedes mantenerlo a que suba de precio y luego venderlo, o ponerlo en venta inmediatamente. Para que lo compren rápidamente, este NFT tiene que tener un volumen de transacciones elevado. Es decir, que en pocos segundos o minutos, una persona está comprando uno de la colección. También es a considerar poner el precio por debajo del precio de piso, ya que además, se posiciona antes que otros.

La siguiente operación consistía en hacer swap de un token en cualquier cadena, con la particularidad de ser un gasto mínimo de $50 dólares. Como ya tenía fondos en Polygon aproveché y realicé algunos swaps. Uno desconociendo no se hubiese animado a ingresar $50 dólares a la plataforma, pero no se trata de eso. Estas operaciones son acumulables, lo que significa que haciendo 5 operaciones de $10 dólares, completas la tarea.

Eso sí, envolver y desenvolver un token no contaba para la misión, así que utilicé mis POL y los cambié por USDC, luego los USDC por el token UNI. De UNI los cambié a LINK, y luego a POL otra vez. Posiblemente una operación la había hecho dos veces, pero contó para que la barra de progreso llegase al 100%.

Another task was to put a PFP and a banner on the profile. I thought I had to buy a NFT and put it on, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. I already had an avatar, but I just changed the banner to an image I had on my desktop and it counted.

The idea is to be able to complete as many tasks as possible. I still don't know the difficulty level of the legendary ones. But the epic one was quite acceptable and possible to do for any human being hahaha.

Otra de las tareas era la de ponerse un PFP y un banner en el perfil. Pensé que había que comprar un NFT y ponerlo, pero no encontré la manera de hacerlo. Ya tenía un avatar, pero solo le cambié el banner por una imagen que tenía en el escritorio y contó para lograrla.

La idea es poder completar todas las tareas posibles. Aún no sé el nivel de dificultad que tengan las que son legendarias. Pero la épica fue bastante aceptable y posible de hacer para cualquier ser humano jajaja.

Supposedly legendary tasks could give us treasures, although I don't know how important they are. I guess they will be criteria for a much more important token distribution at the time of the TGE. What I knew at the moment is that this started some time before, so there are more advanced users.

For my part, I'll be watching to make sure I don't miss anything. I set up my wallets (Abstract, Solana, and obviously the EVM) to keep track of my activity on the network. Besides, in almost all projects they usually make snapshots, so it is something we should do at the first moment.

Supuestamente las tareas legendarias nos podrían dar tesoros, aunque desconozco qué tan importantes son. Supongo que serán criterio para una distribución de tokens mucho más importante al momento del TGE. Lo que supe de momento es que esto comenzó con cierta anterioridad, por lo que hay usuarios más avanzados.

Por mi parte, estaré viendo de no perderme nada. Coloqué mis wallets (Abstract, Solana, y obviamente la EVM) para ir dejando constancia de mi actividad en la red. Además, en casi todos los proyectos suelen realizar snapshots, por lo que es algo que deberíamos hacer al primer instante.

At the moment there is an acceptable number of participants in terms of the distribution of the pot. It will be worrying when they arrive en masse, as the prize is somewhat liquefied. In these cases it is said that the project is too farmed; this does not seem to be the case.

De momento hay una cantidad de participantes aceptable en término de distribución del pozo. Será preocupante cuando lleguen en forma masiva, ya que se licúa un poco el premio. En estos casos se dice que el proyecto está muy farmeado; no parece el caso.

The good thing is that here we have a record of our activity, visually verifiable, as well as obviously through the chain. For me in particular, this motivates me more than doing tasks blindly, not knowing if the expenditure of my funds and time is worth it. The more I participate and acquire the more important voyagers, I know it will be reflected in a fair distribution of rewards.

Lo bueno es que aquí tenemos un registro de nuestra actividad, visualmente comprobable, como obviamente también a través de la cadena. A mí en lo particular me motiva más esto que estar haciendo tareas a ciegas, desconociendo si el gasto de mis fondos y tiempo valen la pena. Mientras más participe y adquiera los voyager más importantes, sé que se reflejará en una justa distribución de las recompensas.

New voyages appear every 24 hours, although their level of importance is unknown beforehand. The good thing is that we are given enough time to complete the missions, as you can see it is two days. This could be crucial to analyze a strategy, as we may want to evaluate what other tasks appear and make a 2x1. For my part, I will let some time pass to see how the next ones evolve.

Another interesting point is that we would be generating activity in other networks, and if OpenSea collaborates with other projects, we could aspire to receive extra rewards in the future.

Cada 24 horas aparecen nuevos voyages, aunque se desconoce de antemano su nivel de importancia. Lo bueno es que nos dan suficiente tiempo para completar las misiones, tal como ven se trata de dos días. Esto podría ser crucial para analizar una estrategia, pues tal vez nos convenga evaluar qué otras tareas aparecen y hacer un 2x1. Por mi parte dejaré pasar un tiempo a ver como evolucionan las siguientes.

Otro de los puntos de interés es que estaríamos generando actividad en otras redes, y si se da el caso de que OpenSea colabora con otros proyectos, pues podríamos aspirar a poder recibir recompensas extra en el futuro.
