My Actifit Report Card: August 4 2025
Glaucus atlanticus, commonly known as the "Blue Dragon", is a very beautiful and poisonous creature of the sea. Despite its small size, it is an exceptional creation of nature due to its colorful body, floating lifestyle and terrible poison.
This sea slug is usually 3–5 cm long and floats on the surface of the sea. Glaucus atlanticus floats on its belly and moves with the help of ocean currents and winds. It mainly hunts poisonous jellyfish (such as the Portuguese Man o' War) and stores the poison in its body and uses it for a more powerful attack.
This animal is not only remarkable in its appearance, but also in its defense strategy. The poison collected from prey is stored in special glands on its body, and in times of danger it can use that poison to repel the enemy. As a result, even the touch of the Blue Dragon can be fatal. Glaucus atlanticus is a mysterious and fascinating creature for science and nature lovers.
