My Actifit Report Card: August 7 2025
Michael Jackson's "incredible lean" pose — which seemed to defy the laws of physics — was actually the result of a stunning invention!
Michael Jackson first performed this forward lean move in the 1988 song "Smooth Criminal." The audience wondered — how was it possible?
The answer to the mystery lay in the design of his shoes. Jackson and his team created a patented special shoe (patent: 5,255,452). The heel of this shoe had a "V"-shaped slot that connected to a peg protruding from the inside of the stage. As a result, they could safely maintain their balance and lean their bodies forward — even more than 45 degrees! The technology was called the "Method and Means for Creating Anti-Gravity Illusion."
What the audience saw as magic or a miracle was actually a perfect combination — a unique example of innovation, engineering, and dance. When talent meets innovation, something becomes possible that defies gravity.
