My Actifit Report Card: August 12 2025

When my baby was one month old, my mother used to massage his nose by pressing it lightly, because it makes the nose shape beautiful. At first, I was afraid that he would get hurt! But I saw that he doesn't even move a bit in his sleep, which means that our grandmothers/mothers do these things with balance. Behind every care they provide, there is a bag of experience, but of course, don't indulge in superstitions, such as giving honey/oil to the baby's mouth/pressing hard on the nose or forehead, putting a tick on the navel, etc. Don't do unscientific things. But exposing the baby to the sun regularly and massaging it with oil, getting advice on how to raise it, these are a blessing for the baby that our modern-day small families are seriously missing, especially some modern girls who can't bear all this care from adults, they themselves seem to be a sea of scholars, have children, get PhDs and then become mothers!

My mother still teaches me what to put in khichuri, forbids giving vegetables and meat, forbids me from eating even if I sleep without eating, tells me to sleep at the same time every day, tells me to change my clothes 2/3 times a day, tells me to wipe my body before going to bed at night, saying that this will make the baby clean and grow up! She forbids me from holding the baby in my arms all day, that this will make the baby self-dependent! I never argue, I don't do this or that, I don't say these things, because I see that they are really good for the baby! Growing up with grandma and grandpa eating their rice cakes is the healthiest way to grow up, let grandma and grandpa take care of their grandchildren wholeheartedly, don't ignore them for no reason, if something is wrong, explain it to them and correct it. A group is promoting the idea of children growing up like farm chickens in a cage with their parents in a way that only a child needs a mother. In the modern era, we wonder if we should know this or that. Grandmothers seem like a burden to them. Our children don't seem to be so-called smart. If they are with them, they might not speak a word of English, but they will become human beings, they will become humane, God willing.
