ALIVE AND THRIVING: Actifit Report: August 27 2023 A Wonder-filled Day

My day started out as usual of attending mass by 6am though planning to rest from the weeks non-stop workouts. Then came a series of beautiful happenings and a little bit sad occurrence which is more natural than can be accepted- overall BEAUTIFUL like this wildflower picture taken by me.

My mum asked to accompany her to her little farm of (maize, cassava, yam and vegetables) at the school where she teaches instead of heading straight home to which I obliged. Then I saw these beautiful flowers planted by one of her colleagues.

Though due to the holiday and her unavaibility around the school premises, some leaves are discoloured to show how it is not properly tended to.

I walked pass the prim of flowers to return later to show you the content of it's flowers later on.
Then I saw a cute kitten, one of three which was feisty- not wanting to be held and eager to explore it's environment as it's mother sat a little bit afar off.

At the clicking sound of my tongue against my upper jaw, it walked straight up to me wanting to be picked up. I wasn't so familiar with her or cats entirely, though admired I don't have the confidence to pick cats off the floor. Although I held the awakened kitten for a short while.

The other kittens were cuddled and asleep in a basket decked with clothings.

Then we got to the farm with dried up corn stems that has been harvested.

I plucked some vegetables to make soup which in our language is called Atiyeve.

Then I sighted a very beautiful a wild flower that was in my favorite colour -pink.

Here is a close-up picture of the flower. Isn't it beautiful.

I returned back to the little garden and took pictures of these gorgeous pictures.

When I got home after taking a picture of this mighty snail from the farm, I was seated on a chair in the corridor having a chat with my younger sister then this butterfly which I thought at first was a moth hit my legs and sent me running. My sister burst out in laughter at how much of a scaredy cat I was.

It perched on the grounded corn seeds and was somewhat reluctant to fly away.

Unknown to me it chose to live out its last minute at my house. Which allowed me to take all these pictures of a beautiful butterfly that once lived.

I am alive and thriving. Hope you are too?

I love all your beautiful photos, Whitney! So many lovely plants, the kitties, and the butterfly! I have a kitten now that I adore! She's the most adorable darling in the world! That snail, which we have here too, is called the 'African giant snail', and they're everywhere! Yay for such a wonderful experience! Happy new week to you! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Oh my goodness yes, and this one is over-the-top adorable! She belonged to Iolanthe, an 11-year-old girl who was born and grew up in the intentional community where I live. I was babysitting the kitten for her, the kitten and I bonded super strongly, so Io asked me if I wanted to keep her. So that's how she came to me.

Yep, that's the most common vernacular name for that snail. It's scientific name is Lissachatina fulica.

You're always very welcome, dear, most definitely! Thank you! May your new week be wildly wonderful! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Poor butterfly. At least it chose a peaceful place to spend it's last days.

Everything about this post is just beautiful. The kitten.. adorable, the flowers..very beautiful, the leaves cut for soup...I hope you enjoyed the soup.
