How to Get Better at Fantasy Premier League (Part 2)
G'day tribe. Yesterday I posted the first part of how to get better at Fantasy Premier League which you can check out here. I've been inspired by the establishment of @hivefpl which is the brainchild of @belemo.
Let's take a look at the final best tips.
4. Beat Price Rises
After each Gameweek a players price will increase or decrease. A players price will change based on how many other managers are transferring a certain player in or out of their team so the price of a player correlates to a players performance, injury or suspension.
If you're certain on going in on player then do so at the beginning of the week before everybody else jumps on, potentially pricing you out of a player you were after.
3. Analyse Upcoming Fixtures
Every good Fantasy Premier League manager will take into account immediate and upcoming fixtures when picking their first XI. Many inexperienced managers will create problems by looking only at the first round or two of fixtures.
This can lead to issues where a manager is stuck with limited options as the season progresses. With only one free transfer per week, managers may be forced into a Fantasy Premier League scoring penalty which is -4 points for each additional transfer. Look into the future!
2. Use Your Chips Wisely
The best Fantasy Premier League managers are separated from the wannabes when it comes to chip management. Obviously you need to use them all if you want to become a winning FPL manager.
If you want to get better at Fantasy Premier League then wait for double game weeks to use your chips. We all can't get off to a quick start and if you're falling behind early on don't get tempted to use them out of desperation. Be patient.
1. Pick the Best Formation
Those who want to get better at Fantasy Premier League need to understand the importance of formations. Not long ago loading up the back was the way to go, offering excellent value with wing-backs and taking advantage of the clean sheet bonus in Fantasy Premier League scoring.
If you want a winning fantasy Premier League team nowadays however you need to consider going with the most successful formations which are either 3-4-3 or 3-5-2. Picking one of these formations means picking a captain from one of seven players that are either a midfielder or striker which gives you a chance of a big haul of any given week.
8 GWs ago I was certain:
- 5 ATB was the best formation this season. - I’d own Sterling & Salah all season. Now: - I’m playing 3 ATB, sold Salah 2 GWs ago & now may sell Sterling. The only winning strategy in FPL is flexibility & the only winning philosophy is an open mind. — Neil Murray #FPL (@roneildinho) October 18, 2019

Very great tips. Let's see if this might have been a mistake from your sight to give away such important advice before the fantasy league even started :P
No I am jsut kidding. Are you participating in the fantasy league as well? :)
Hahaha it may well be a mistake. I'm indeed participating what a fantastic idea with this league
Picking the right formation is important and the price goes up with match performances too. I decided to quickly set mine up to avoid the increment in price but I know it's still a gamble. I wish I can slot Haaland in but I would take that risk after watching him play a few games.
Yep I was tossing up on Haaland I think he's going to score far too regularly and have big games worth captaining him
That's so true... He would enjoy the services to deliver.
Thanks for the tips, looking forward to the new season.
