Is the NBA Top Shot Bubble Ready to Burst?

Is the NBA Top Shot bubble set to burst? A look at my top 5 NBA investments from two weeks ago could be a sign of things to come.

Shockingly, my moments ranged from a gain of just under a one percent gain to a -23% loss in two weeks.

The interesting thing to note however is that low end moments remained stable which you can see in the numbers further below.

All the other higher-end moments saw decline.

Despite the major dip on some of those moments, I’m not phased and here’s why.

Whether they go up or down, they’re a long term hold. Blockchain technology is here to stay and cryptocurrency is very well positioning itself to be the future of all currencies.

Do you collect sports cards?

There’s a reason why rookie cards are the most highly sought and valuable cards. In fact, the hobby basically revolves around rookie cards.

Just like any other collectable, a rookie is the first version available for a player.

Apply that same concept across to NBA Top Shot and all Series 1 moments should mature well into the future.

Top Shot Bubble or Correction?
Call it what you will, a dip is inevitable.

The hype is over, very much like the pandemonium over sports cards through 2020.

Like the sports card market, NBA Top Shot will undergo a correction, but by no means is it going to die.

In similar fashion to cryptocurrency in 2018, any collapse will be followed by a recovery phase.

NBA Top Shot will eventually mature itself into a legitimate long term hobby and investment for us to enjoy.

Take a look below at the fluctuations in my five best NBA Top Shot investments.

That was about two weeks after I initially wrote about them.

But they’re all long term holds for me.

I put a sh$%load into crypto right before the big 2018 crypto crash.

What did I do?

I continued to put more fiat into crypto every single month with the dollar-cost average principle in mind.

Who’s laughing now?

With an expected Top Shot dip just around the corner, I’ll continue to HODL and I’ll continue to add Series 1 moments to my collection.
