MY SPORTS TALK WEEKLY FAVOURITE CURATES | WEEK 1

G'day to all those out there in the Sports Talk tribe. I love writing but just as equally, I love to see what others have to say. Welcome to WEEK 1 of my favourite curated posts for the week.

week-1-favourites.jpg

Every week I'll be sharing my favourite posts of the week. These are posts that provoked thought, inspired me or made it because I recognise the considerable effort in writing.

1. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - Footballers who returned to their former club by @talesfrmthecrypt

@talesfrmthecrypt is writing fantastic content for the tribe and chimed in with a 1917-word ripper. This one hurt as it begins by talking about my favourite club Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku, who is having troubles in paradise. It was an amazing step back in time regarding Juninho who I had the pleasure watching live when he came for a stint down under playing for Sydney FC. I also found out why Vagner Love stayed in Russia. I'd always wondered why we didn't have the pleasure to watch him in the EPL. It makes sense now .. those damn orgies ..

2. 'BYE BYE AUBAMEYANG' by @ogeewitty

@ogeewitty reminded me of Sweden's Alexander Isak and him potentially Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Arsenal. I use to always I use to always buy him as a young player in Football Manager and bring up teams from the lower divisions to the Premier League. Thanks for the post and bringing back some good ol' memories.

3. Like a kid in a candy shop! Why Newcastle's new found wealth won't necessarily lead to Premier League safety by @talesfrmthecrypt

Another 1648-worded banger from @talesfrmthecrypt, which triggered some solid engagement from the tribe with 21 comments so far. It definitely provoked some thought for me and a reminder of how Newcastle's fierce rivals Sunderland were relegated two years straight despite pumping money into the transfer market. It serves as a timely reminder that money doesn't always equal good results. He makes a good point of the due diligence needed before splashing the cash.

4. How did John Madden impact your life? by @sports.guy55

Sorry I will cheat a little bit. @sports.guy55 wrote about John Madden following his passing 11 days ago but this is well worth the mention. He brought up some great memories with me growing up playing the Madden game in Australia, which at the time had virtually zero coverage of the NFL. I played Madden through my teenage years and American Football grew on me so much it's now one of my favourite sports. Hence why I wrote about a lot of NFL! The post has 206 votes so far and I'm so pleased that it has been well rewarded. A solid, thought provoking piece.

5. Top Premier League sides and their bogey teams by @talesfrmthecrypt

No. I do not work for @talesfrmthecrypt. It's not my fault he has super engaging posts, making it on my list for a third time! It has 18 comments and the post provoked thought, making me reminisce watching Aussie keeper Mathew Ryan become a bogeyman to Arsenal for Brighton. Interestingly, Ryan went for a quick loan spell as Brighton no longer wanted him and now he plays for Real Sociedad in La Liga. The post also made me realise how the lower EPL teams employ counter-attacking tactics to keep up with the bigger teams, with relative success.

That's it for this week! Look forward to seeing your posts and engaging with the tribe this throughout the week.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

I'm not on the Discord so perhaps there isn't a community there yet. There's no magic formula you've just got to keep at it. Keep contributing good content, engaging with the community and you won't even realise your followers increasing cause you're having so much fun doing the other stuff.

It is really cool seeing @ogeewitty's name here. Dude has been trying so hard to master this craft. I remember him really trying early on and was eager to learn and improve more.

I barely manage to pop in here anymore as I am working on other projects including my own community. So it was good seeing his name pop up here more.
